I know what you’re thinking. That this would be large than your current wallet and make you sit all unlevel, like having George Costanza’s huge wallet. But who cares? This is an awesome geek wallet. We’ve seen a lot os SNES cartridge mods, but this is a first.

The SNES cartridge has been modded to hold a photo ID on the front, but it has also been gutted like a fish and outfitted with a hinge so that you have storage space on the inside. If that isn’t enough, it has an LED that can be turned on and off. It also plays game music and noises. Crazy, right? If you are just aching to hide your cash in one, you can build one of your very own.

Nintendo has done everything it can to stay one step ahead of those crazy modders, but it hasn’t slowed them down. Now we have FLATMII, a device that plugs into the Wii’s drive ribbon and lets you stream ISO backups of games (or whatever) from your Windows XP or Vista PC.

The console thinks it’s a DVD drive. It’s for cautious Wii owners who want to backup games that they own legally. Users who would never steal software. If you fall into that category, check out a video below.

This is hardly shocking news, but according to the Wall Street Journal, both Nintendo’s Wii and the Xbox 360 clobbered the PS3 in holiday sales. U.S. sales fell nine percent from this month last year. During the same period, sales doubled for the Wii and were up eight percent for the Xbox 360.

That’s what happens when you fail to cut prices on your system, and the lack of exclusive game titles didn’t help either. Not to mention a bunch of inexpensive Blu-ray players. The end result is that the PS3 was the least attractive option for buyers. Apparently, it’s not even fit to roast a decent weiner.

I’m sure you have all gotten nice and slim using the Wii Fit, which is good, because much like a Thanksgiving turkey in September, Nintendo now has a plan to fatten you up. Probably so you’ll be more inclined to buy Wii Fit 2 and work it all off again. Beginning this spring, Nintendo will intro the Food Delivery Channel in Japan, just like how TiVo users can order Pizza Hut.

Wii users will be able to place orders from Demae-can.com where they can buy sushi, hamburgers and all kinds of stuff fit for a dinner in front of the Wii. It goes further then just food ordering though. You order the food and then if you like, your Wii will set the mood music. It can even pick a meal and have it sent to you randomly.

Beginning early next year, the Nintendo Wii will be joining the other consoles in offering a video distribution service through the Wii. According to Nikkei business daily, the Big N will team up with Dentsu, Inc. to offer cartoons and other programs created specifically for the service.

Somehow we don’t see this service being free, since they are talking about a “new revenue stream,”. Wii owning video lovers may be in store for a big let-down. Let’s not forget about the console’s 512MB memory limit and it’s 480p maximum resolution. The probably lame service will launch in Japan and then head overseas later.

That’s right. New York City’s Toys “R” Us Time Square gets its very own Nintendo department. The Nintendo department, located on Level One of the Toys “R” Us international flagship store, is almost 1,000 square feet and is easily visible from the store’s windows overlooking Broadway. It includes more Nintendo products then you can shake a Wiimote at, and should make hardcore nerd fanboys wet their pants.

The department store will include a Wii wall so fans can slam a Wiimote into a TV that they don’t own, and eight Nintendo DS systems for customers to play with and try out new games. There’s also a Nintendo gallery with images from Nintendo’s history in video games.

The latest Wii nonsense happening in the World has nothing to do with Wii-tards shattering TVs, or boyfriends recording their hot girlfriends getting fit. No, the latest Wii news is happening in Britain where The Sun is reporting that 10 Wii users per week in the UK are being hospitalized.

According to Doctors, patients are reporting excruciating pain in their shoulders and knees. They are calling the phenomenon Wii-itus and Wii-Knee, supposedly caused by making sudden movements in the tennis game and in Wii-Fit. But more likely, these are probably just out of shape gamers who are not used to moving. According to Doctors, some potential problems later in life for Wii-itus sufferers include rheumatism, arthritis, inflammation of the shoulder or wrist and a desire to play a different console. Any console that will allow them to lay in bed with a good cheeseburger.

Dual screens on a laptop. Oh yes. We’ve been drooling over Lenovo’s W700ds, and now we have the laptop’s first widely available video. The unit in the video appears to be that of a pre-production model.

Another thing that you might have noticed is the wobble in that pull-out panel. Yikes, that thing looks fragile. It looks like it didn’t go back in too easy either. But we’re hoping Lenovo works out all it’s issues before it hits the market for real. I have no doubt that they will as they have a lot riding on this unit.

It’s been awhile since we saw a really cool Wii case mod, though we did bring you 14 neat mods some time ago. This custom Star Wars case mod is pretty awesome and you can learn to make one too. Just be warned that the creator invested over 100 hours of work.

It includes lots of LEDs and fiber optics to give it some nice glowing effects. If you’d rather buy one and not put in the time, you can find this gem on ebay for $499.99. It features stars that fade in and out, custom Red Light Bar, and a hand Painted Death Star, X-Wing and Darth Vader’s Tie-Fighter. Pretty sweet.

My son is one of the proudest kids in the neighborhood when it comes to video games since we have a Wii, PS3, and an Xbox (all for work naturally). The thing most of the kids want to play is the Wii and many of his friends are asking Santa for a Wii this Christmas.

The catch is that the Wii is still notoriously hard to find, despite the fact that Nintendo is making more of the consoles this holiday season than it did last year. Nintendo has announced that it has set US sales records with its Wii and DS game systems.

Apparently HarperCollins thinks there’s too much Zombie shooting, Mario Kart racing, Tetris blocks falling and puppy petting happening on the DS, and they’d rather you do some fancy book learnin’. Or at least reading. So they’ve teamed up with Nintendo to make classic books available to read on the Nintendo DS. This 100 Classic Book Collection will at first only be available in Britain for £20. Turning pages will be as easy as brushing your finger across the screen.

Depending on the success of the service, Nintendo will expand upon the available choices at readers stylus’. The service will compete with reader devices like the Sony Reader released in September, which holds about 160 book titles. If the service expands to other countries, it is going to be hard to go up against Amazon’s Kindle, which even offers subscriptions to newspapers as well.

HM Revenue & Customs has released an official report warning that “hundreds of imported counterfeit game consoles seized at UK freight depots were found to have been supplied with potentially dangerous power adapters.” Most of the consoles had been purchased at a huge discount from Asian websites that claimed to sell “genuine Nintendo products” for over 50% off. Yes, these fakes can kill you.

Nintendo has already confirmed that the DS / DS Lites are counterfeit, and the included power adapters were also labeled “potentially dangerous, since they had not been electronically tested and do not meet strict UK safety standards.” The moral of the story is that parents need to stop buying their kids these cheap-ass imitations.

The Nintendo Wii continues to dominate the sales charts and sell so well that most people who want one can’t find it. Odds are the Wii is at the top of many holiday wish lists this Christmas season. If you have been lucky enough to get your hands on a Wii, you will need some accessories to go with it. One such accessory is a charge station for the remotes.

Nyko has announced a new accessory called the Charge Station Quad for Nintendo Wii that will retail for $49.99. The device has spots for four Wii Remotes and includes new rechargeable batteries and battery doors to allow the Wii Remotes to be recharged.

Nintendo really hit the mark with the Wii. Now all they have to do is sit back and laugh at every lame attempt by others to capitalize on their motion controller. Take this thing for instance. 3DiJoy has unveiled its FlingPC motion controller that is basically an accelerometer-equipped Bluetooth remote and a USB dongle.

For your $99 you’ll get ten custom (and rest assured crappy) 3D games. Just look at the image above. Asian babies love Wii knock-offs. They are a cheap gateway to the overpriced highs they’ll get from higher quality game systems once they reach puberty. This thing is compatible with both Linux and Windows platforms, but somehow we don’t see a large market outside of the Asian baby demo.

It’s that time again. Greenpeace has released their new Guide to Greener Electronics. Compared to last year, there are many changes. Some you might expect, some you may not have foreseen.

Some manufacturers went up on the scale, while others went down. Nokia is the standout at the top, right at the 7 out of 10 mark, but poor Nintendo… The Big N is once again stuck at 1 out of 10. How did Apple fare? They fail once again and drop to the 14th position out of 18 companies.
