It’s basically a 24-inch monitor. One that has a built-in browser, and will connect to the internet without being connected to a PC. But it does more than just surf the web. You can also watch movies on that 1080p display using Acer’s clear.fi software to stream video from other devices on the network. Sounds pretty sweet. Logitech offers new speaker options for laptops

Posted in Logitech by Shane McGlaun on September 1st, 2010

Of all the notebooks I have tired over the years it’s safe to say that 99.99% of the have crap sound systems. They sound flat, lack volume so you can actually hear what’s going on and have no bass. This is the reason there are some any different external speakers and headphone options around.

Logitech has announced a couple new laptop offerings called the Logitech Laptop Speaker Z305 and the Logitech Wireless Speaker Z515. Both speakers are aimed at notebook users with Mac or Windows machines. The Z515 is a wireless offering with a USB transmitter that uses 2.4GHz tech for 50-foot range. The speaker can also connect to the iPad or iPhone wirelessly as well.

But fear not, the lid is covered with character faces. Its version of Windows 7 or XP has Miffy-themed apps and wallpaper on the desktop. Nothing on price yet, but it’s Japan-only as it’s too cute for our shores.

Posted in Sony by Shane McGlaun on July 1st, 2010

These mixed reports left a lot of us wondering exactly what was going on. Apparently, both things were true. To most of us when you say recall, we think box it up and send it back. Sony and the Consumer Product Safety commission have issued a “recall” on the machines.
