Canon 300mm f/4 L lens turned into a mug

Posted in Canon by Conner Flynn on January 25th, 2011

Remember those lens mugs from awhile back that look like real camera lenses? Those were pretty realistic, but if you want something even more authentic, then how about a mug that was created from a real $1,300 Canon 300mm f/4 L lens?

Obviously the lens isn’t in working condition anymore, but it holds your favorite beverage. The proceeds from this sale will go to Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal of Australia to help victims of the Australia flood. The lens/mug is going for $609 right now and could go higher.

DIY pinball machine coffee table

Posted in DIY by Conner Flynn on September 22nd, 2010

Coffee tables don’t have to be boring. This one will provide much more fun than just a place to put your books and coffee mugs on it. A fellow named zieak created this amazing table, after picking up a pinball machine from the dump.

He basically transferred the playing surface of the old pinball machine (with some LEDs) into a coffee table. And now I want to do the same.

Heat Changing Arcade Mugs

Posted in Home by Conner Flynn on February 8th, 2010

You can never have too much Pac-Man in your life. Or Space Invaders. Excuse me, “Pac Boy” and “Space Intruders”. You could buy yourself a regular mug featuring arcade scenes, but these mugs from Thinkgeek react to the heat in your drink and actually do things.

For instance the Pac Boy mug starts off with an empty maze, but when you add heat and it gets filled with detail. Same with the Space Intruders mug.

Prank Pack fake gift boxes for the holidays

Posted in Humor by Conner Flynn on December 7th, 2009

Prank Pack fake gift boxes for the holidaysCheck out these “Prank Pack” fake gift boxes. Great way to pull a prank on those you love this holiday season. Just be careful, they might get mad enough to throw punches. I know I would be pretty pissed off if I thought I was getting some sweet coffee mugs with built-in walkie talkies, only to open the box to find socks or some other crappy gift. So be warned, anybody who pulls this with me is in for a world of hurt. You don’t mess around with a man’s hopes and dreams.

Also available are: Beer Beard: Sneak beverages into sporting events under a fake beard, Birdie Belt: GPS rangefinder, belt, and buckle with integrated tools and tee storage, Noggin’ Net: Hat that doubles as a fishing net, Motorized Rolling Pin: 1/16-horsepower motorized rolling pin and the Wake & Bake Griddle: Combination alarm clock and breakfast griddle.

Link Mugs help you carry multiple coffees easilyHere’s a pretty handy mug design. Especially if you’re that guy who gets everyone their coffee at the office. You won’t spill a drop if you use Link Mugs. It’s a simple design. Each mug has male and female, cross-shaped areas that allow it to join with the next mug.

So you can link these mugs together and carry several mugs at the same time safely. Pretty cool idea huh? Or a hot one if they are full of Java. The set includes three ceramic coffee mugs for $54.

The Beer Trike

Posted in Automotive by Conner Flynn on August 26th, 2009

The Beer TrikeForget drunk driving. The Beer Trike drives your drinks. It is essentially a mobile pub. And perhaps one of mankind’s finest inventions. It could be as big as the ice cream truck, only for adults. The beer trike was built for the British Biker Build-Off.

You have your usual bike along with a sidecar, and a completely operational mobile bar. It also sports air suspension on all three wheels. The only concern is how to keep all of that beer cold. If I could, I would buy this and travel the country filling mugs everywhere and becoming a legend.

Get arrested in Texas, your mugshot will be on Twitter

Get arrested in Texas, your mugshot will be on TwitterThey used to say that when you get arrested, don’t go singing like a bird and giving up all of your buddies. Well, times have sure changed. Now it’s the man who sings like a bird and rats you out to everyone. If you get arrested in Denton, Texas, your mugshot will be blasted all over Twitter with your age and crime.

But this isn’t some innovation from the Texas penal system to humiliate lawbreakers, just a clever art student’s comment on how much information is floating around out there. Sometimes the power of Twitter can be downright scary.
