We’ve seen the NES modded into many different things and we’ve seen even seen NES cartridges used as cases for external hard drives, but this mod is ridiculous and awesome at the same time. Ed Lewis created this NES cartridge flash drive with a NES console USB port. That’s right, there’s only one USB connector inside that console.

To make one yourself, all you need to do is open up the cartridge, take out the board and make a gap for a flash drive, then glue it inside. Then open up the console, cut a hole in the middle of the cartridge connector for the flash drive to slide in, and another hole at the back of the console for a USB cable.

If you have some spare time on your hands, why not turn your Nintendo Entertainment System into a breathalyzer called DrunkenNES? That’s what this Engineer did. He turned an NES cartridge into a working breathalyzer unit, and coded a program on the NES to calculate the readings from the controller.

Now everyone will know just how buzzed you are as you try to rescue Peach from Bowser’s clutches. As a bonus, after analyzing the breath of a “player”, they get a score and a rating such as “Buzzy Bee” or “Party Kitten” to show how drunk they are. An “Alco-hall of fame” also ranks you like a hi-score chart. Sounds like a wild mod.

They are plenty of girl gamers out there, but they don’t always get recognition. Well, they do now. Evil Controllers has the labeled February Girl Gaming Month and they will be releasing a girl-gamer-friendly controller and bundle.

The new modded controllers are pink, but still bad-ass enough to kick your butt in COD. In February, a Pink Camo controller will be available as well as a Girl Gamer Evil Bundle. The bundle will include the Pink Camo controller with a basic Auto burst mod that can be upgraded; a tank top released from Evil vs. Evil; an extra pair of Evil Sticks; and Evil’s signature keychain. Prices range from $79.99 to $154.99.

This looks like a light gun with a rear-view mirror attached, but it’s actually a NES light gun modded into an iPhone dock. We thought we had seen everything, but this is a new one. Though we can’t say we’re surprised. What did surprise us was the Christmassy background.

If you absolutely need an NES light gun iPhone Dock in your life, it will set you back $30. Not bad considering that you didn’t need to do the work.

We’ve seen plenty of painted and modded Xbox 360s in our day, even an Xbox 360 laptop, but until now we’ve never seen what Tony Stark’s Xbox 360 looks like.

And thanks to Zachariah Perry Cruse, we now know. It looks just like his armor. The design student spent his summer vacation creating his very own Iron Man Xbox 360. It’s not the slim 360 console, but it has a 120GB hard drive and an HDMI socket. Why not place a bid?

If you miss the days of typing away at a slow speed on old typewriters, you can now relive those days on your computer. These retro typewriters have been converted into USB keyboards. They come from Jack Zylkin of usbtypewriters.

He takes old typewriters and converts them into keyboards you can use with modern computers. Pretty damn cool right? A fully-modded USB typewriter will cost you about $400 to $500, or Jack can take your old typewriter and convert it for you for $200.

It’s been some time since we’ve used 8-Tracks. Here’s something that can hopefully make them cool again. This modder has made a Beach Boys deck connect to his iPod nano, complete with a headphone socket and USB port on the front for portability and charging.

When you plug it in, the 8-track transfers iPod signals into the source for plug-and-play awesomeness. So now you have an 8-track that holds 500 songs. Your daddy’s eight track didn’t do that.

We have no idea why someone would mod a new wireless keyboard into the old looking one you see above. It must be a sickness or a dutch thing since this was created by a Dutch guy.

He took a Logitech Wireless Wii keyboard apart, mapped the key codes and did some soldering to make it all happen. But why? I guess I’m just not all that nostalgic about old keyboards. What do you guys think? Do you prefer this, or a new keyboard?

Turns out that the Dell Mini 9 can be modded into a sexy looking internet tablet. Who is responsible for this? A dude named Rob, who is a MyDellMini forum member. He turned his Del Vostro A9, which is a business version of the Mini 9, into a Windows 7 touchscreen.

This bad boy holds a 16GB SSD, WiFi, Bluetooth, 1GB of RAM and an Intel Atom N270 processor. Rob has further plans for it, like adding an accelerometer to automatically adjust the screen orientation and a small USB fan for temperature control.

We aren’t sure why anyone would make a computer that looks like a stove. Maybe they had fond memories of their ez-bake oven. This one comes from a Czech modder, who probably has it displayed in his kitchen.

The Project MiniCooker PC is a nice mod though and looks very convincingly like a real stove. It even has LED “gas burners” to complete the effect.

Why bother dusting off that old TurboGrafx console when you can just build your own portable version? Not everyone has the skills, but that’s what modder “Bacteria” did.

Dubbed the IntoGrafx, this portable allows you to play TurboGrafx and PC-Engine HUcard games using the original hardware and original game carts, not emulation. This one weighs in at just 750g and measures 215 x 135 x 55mm. As usual he did an awesome job. That was a fun console to play back in the day.

We’ve seen some pretty cool lasers come across our desks in the past so it’s always refreshing to see a unique twist like what we have with the Photonic Disrupter. The folks at Wicked Lasers have taken an already powerful 100mW laser and modded it into non-lethal, “Threat Assessment Laser Illuminator”, (TALI for short) weapon.

The main feature that makes the Photonic Disrupter different from other 100mW lasers is its adjustable lens, allowing you to create a broad or very focused non-lethal beam of green light. The intent of the laser is for military and law enforcement use in dark or low-light situations, allowing the wielder of the light to temporarily blind and overwhelm the senses of the other person.

Gears of War fans are sure to love this Xbox case mod. Maybe. It’s the work of one Tallerkamino, who designed and modded the Xbox case in honor of the game. How he did it is not clear.(Looks like he used mousepads and attached them to the console).

Then he obviously glued action figures onto the base. It’s a cool mod I guess, but I prefer the console to be entirely covered. It’s more of a diorama. But if you love Gears of War, I’m sure it will make you smile and brighten you day.

South Korean telecom company KTF just announced a cleaning robot that can be controlled by a 3G cellphone. The Roomba can’t do that, now can it? The robot is called the CW100 and is the result of a collaboration with Microbot.

It’s a “smart” vacuum, like the Roomba. It can be controlled by phone, which the Roomba can’t, unless modded to do so. It uses an onboard video camera to send live images to the mobile phone, so if you see an untidy spot, the user can remotely control it using the keypad and clean it up.

Someone has taken an old NES controller and modded it into The Compwnent USB Nintendo Controller mouse by adding a new chip and USB cable. It will work with any OS. We’re not sure how comfortable it would be to use, but it’s not like it will injure your wrist over time. Why not?

It will show up as “Compwnent USB NES Controller” on your device list and boasts a Mouse Mode. Hit A, B, Start & Select simultaneously and you can use the D-pad and A/B buttons to control mouse movement and left/right click! The NES Controller will cost you $35.
