Posted in iPad by Conner Flynn on March 6th, 2011

Now that Steve has launched iPad 2, CrystalRoc isn’t missing the chance to glam it up with their first Swarovski encrusted iPad 2 cases. I wonder how many of these they actually sell. Michael Jackson is gone, so there goes one sale. I suppose Elton John will get one, maybe Lady Gaga.

It comes decked out in more than 4000 crystals and is exclusively produced in their London Studios. For just $700, you can encase your new iPad in either Swarovski Crystal, Jet Hematite or Rose cases. The company also accepts orders for custom color cases as well.

The company just updated the drive with a USB 3.0 interface and a 7,200RPM speed that outdoes its predecessor. Oh well, if only you had waited. Then again, you probably just wanted the Michael Jackson edition. But if you want to upgrade, these hard disks are much faster now, with USB 3.0.

Sony PS3 Michael Jackson This is it Bundle

Posted in PS3 by Conner Flynn on January 6th, 2010

We have just one question. Why? Why do we need a Michael Jackson PS3 bundle? MJ and gaming don’t exactly go hand in hand. Is it greed on Sony’s part? Of course. But then MJ’s family would like to sell a few as well, I’m sure.

Wait. Make that two questions. Who is going to buy this? Any of you? I guess the Japanese will buy some, but they’ll buy anything. The “This is it” PS3 bundle which will come with the Michael Jackson documentary of the same name for ¥33,500 (or $366). Michael Jackson phoneEverybody wants to cash in on the King of Pop’s death, so we aren’t surprised to see this Michael Jackson phone appear in China. In a Gold color of course. We are talking the king of pop here.

Sure it looks kinda fugly, but if you’re a big MJ fan, you might want to buy this to go with your other memorabilia. The outside appears to be actually dressed like MJ. The phone comes with a Michael Jackson live-performance DVD which is probably a bootleg, and is decked out in plastic diamonds.

Nokia’s song-inspired Bluetooth headset designs

Posted in Nokia by Conner Flynn on March 25th, 2009

Nokia' song-inspired Bluetooth headset designsNokia’s Music Almighty headset design competition attracted 6,000 entrants, and Nokia is showing off the five winning designs, which have been manufactured as fully-functional one of a kind headsets. The rules were that all of the headsets had to be inspired by a song.

So naturally that inspired a wide range of designs, like the Daft Punk “Robot Rock” set above, which we like the best. It was inspired by Daft Punk’s “Robot Rock” and was designed by G. Smith. Pretty clever competition.

If you love your Mii enough to immortalize it forever, you’ll love this idea. Mii Sculptures are finally available for purchase. All you have to do is fork over $79 and a copy of your Mii and this guy will hand-craft it just for you.

He’s done famous Miis like Michael Jackson, Woody Allen and Bill Gates and they really do look like the actual person. Since these are hand made, they’ll take around 3 to 4 weeks to complete. Probably more if he gets a ton of orders. I’m guessing we can look forward to blow-up Miis in the near future as well.

The Vie GPS sports glove concept

Vie GPS sports glove concept
Despite the fact that this thing reminds me of the old Nintendo power glove, it’s pretty neat looking, mannequin hands and all. Designer Du Tran Nguyen sees the Verva Vie Sports Glove as the ultimate piece of sporting equipment for the 21st century. How so? The Vie would allow the use of GPS to develop workouts, map routes, and even send out distress beacons(Perish the thought). It has an interface that can be controlled with one hand via strain gauges in the fingers. These interact with an E-ink screen.

It could also be used in sports to communicate plays or share information with other athletes via a handshake. Otherwise known as cheating. On the safety front, it could be used to share health information with a training partner. If there’s danger, a distress signal could be sent to other gloves, or even directly to the police or hospital.(Oh hell, my gloves are tingling, my partner’s in trouble. This sounds like a job for…me! Gloveman!)
