Sirius XM SkyDock converts your iPhone into a Satellite Radio

Posted in Satellite Radio by Conner Flynn on August 26th, 2009

Sirius XM SkyDock converts your iPhone into a Satellite RadioSirius XM’s SkyDock isn’t super sexy. It isn’t elegant. It is what it is, a standalone satellite radio receiver with an iPod connector that will let you listen to space radio on your iPhone or iPod Touch. And that’s fine with us because it’s the only way to do so.

The dock uses iPhone OS 3.0′s new hardware support and plugs into your car’s DC jack for power and support. This dock will cost you $120, plus the required subscription to Sirius XM radio. A free companion app sets your iPhone up as a radio controller. Pretty cool.

“Shining” phone looks like the Agora

Posted in Android by Conner Flynn on January 20th, 2009

“Shining” phone looks like the AgoraWe don’t know what to make of this, but here’s the deal. A “Shining” phone (No, no pictures of Jack Nicholson on it saying HERE’S JOHNNY.) that looks almost exactly like the original version of the Kogan Agora Android phone just showed up on Alibaba with a three-day delivery time and a 100-unit wholesale price of $240.

Of course, the Agora was just delayed indefinitely or aborted depending on your point of view, so this could be nothing. It could just be contracting design and development out to Chinese manufacturers. Those are renders on the site, not actual pictures. Asian copies or no, it’s still a damn cool phone.

T-Mobile’s Motorola ROKR E8
T-Mobile announced it’s own version of Motorola’s ROKR E8, a delicious candybar which is shiny, sleek, glossy and black. Okay, maybe it’s not that much of a looker. Some features are: a 2 megapixel camera, 2GB of internal storage, microSD slot that will get you 8GB more, stereo Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio, and the morphing keypad that makes keys invisible like magic.(If you are in the right mode) Not a surprise that there’s no 3G, but T-Mobile customers are used to that. You can get the E8 starting July 7 for $199.99 with contract.
