Feature phones are biggest sellers in mobile market

lgenv2-sbMost of the news we hear and much of the focus in the mobile phone industry is placed on the smartphone segment. Despite the focus, the vast majority of mobile phone sold in the U.S. are not smartphones.

The NPD Group has issued a report that shows a full 72% of all handsets sold in America are feature phones. Smartphones hold 28% of the mobile phone market. NPD reports that as smartphones are growing, the feature phone segment is shrinking with a decline of 5% compared to Q1.

Behold man’s new best friend, the ManvanThose who are always looking for the latest innovations in tailgating will want to take a serious look at the Manvan. Designed by Aimee LoDuca, this oversized behemoth of a van targets football fans who need more nachos, more beer and just plain more of everything.

It’s inspired by the Nissan NV200, and can expand in the rear just like you after a huge meal. It will house almost everything that you need for indoor and outdoor use. We first told you about the Nissan NV200 almost a full year ago, but it’s still at a conceptual stage, despite being completely awesome and extremely useful. One day soon we hope to see it realized. Man’s first parties were in caves, man’s next parties will be in vans.

LG and Verizon Wireless make you envious with the enV2

LG enV2With CTIA Wireless 2008 quickly approaching new cellular phone announcements are coming hot and heavy. Not all of the phones being announced ahead of the show are bank breakers when it comes to the price, which is nice.

LG and Verizon Wireless announced a new handset today called the LG enV2. The phone is available in black or maroon colors and will be available in April at Verizon Wireless stores across the country for $129.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a new two-year contract.
