LG’s digital-TV-player phones headed for CES

LG never slows down. Lately they’ve been on a roll with digital media players, among other things. The players are expected to have better video playback compared to that we’ve seen so far on mobile players. And the company is planning to release three cellphones that support digital-TV-playback.

The phones will supposedly work flawlessly even when the user is traveling at speeds of up to 290 kmph. That’s a bold statement. The company is also working on chips that receive direct TV feeds. Hopefully we will learn more at CES.

lgrumor2-sbPre-paid mobile provider Virgin Mobile USA unveiled a new device on its network today called the LG Rumor 2. The handset is available now for $129.99 making it an affordable device. The handset packs in many of the features that shoppers are looking for.

The device sports a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, and a 1.3MP camera. The handset also has a MP3 music player, maps, IM, and email capability as well. Other features include text and pic messaging and mobile web access.

Kensington’s power adapter for Netbooks Kensington has a new Power Adapter designed specially for Netbooks. The adapter is compatible with brands like Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, LG, Lenovo, MSI and Samsung netbooks, so all of the big names are covered.

But the most interesting thing about it is that it also features a USB port for powering up your cell phone or MP3 player. Don’t worry, the adapter features over-current protection, short-circuit protection, and over-temperature protection. Pretty nifty gadget to have with you while traveling.

LG Versa gets official on Verizon beginning March 1

LG Versa gets official on Verizon beginning March 1Today the LG Versa has been officially announced. To recap, the phone features a 3-inch(480 x 240)touch screen, an attachable QWERTY keypad, a 2 megapixel camera with autofocus, and flash.

The phone also boasts a music player that can run while you are performing other tasks, a microSD slot capable of holding up to 16GB and Bluetooth 2.1. Some other features include mobile IM for AIM, MSN, Yahoo, web browsing with Flash compatibility, VCast music and is VZ Navigator-capable.

LG Versa from VerizonThe LG Versa may be one to look out for. It will feature a bunch of accessories aimed at fashionistas, with fashionable items from the likes of Liz Claiborne and Dooney & Burke, plus several water resistant, sport, and plain leather cases that will keep the Versa safe.

The LG Versa itself will launch in March for $199.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a contract. If you want, you can spend another $29.99 for a compatible game pad controller for cell phone gaming.

LG and Verizon Wireless make you envious with the enV2

LG enV2With CTIA Wireless 2008 quickly approaching new cellular phone announcements are coming hot and heavy. Not all of the phones being announced ahead of the show are bank breakers when it comes to the price, which is nice.

LG and Verizon Wireless announced a new handset today called the LG enV2. The phone is available in black or maroon colors and will be available in April at Verizon Wireless stores across the country for $129.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a new two-year contract.
