Lenovo is ready to launch a new Windows 7 tablet, even though Windows 8 is coming soon. The IdeaPad P1 features a 10.1-inch (1280 x 800) capacitive touchscreen display with a 1.5GHz Intel processor.

Other features include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a front-facing 2-megapixel webcam, USB 2.0, a microSD memory card slot, up to 2GB DDR2 RAM and up to a 64GB SSD. Lenovo is expecting to launch the IdeaPad P1 in Q4 of this year. They should have waited for Windows 8.

If you have been waiting on the Lenovo IdeaPad S100 notebook, here’s some good news. The computer is available for preorder from Amazon right now. The Lenovo IdeaPad S100 features a 10″ 1024 x 600 display, 1GB of DDR3 RAM, a 250GB HDD, and a battery life of 5 hours.

It also has a dual-core Intel Atom N570 processor. The Lenovo IdeaPad S100 comes with Windows 7 Starter Edition and will cost you $329.99 online. No shipping date yet, but at least you can get your pre-order in.

Lenovo now has the new IdeaCentre B520 all-in-one desktop PC listed on their product page as ‘Coming Soon’. Hopefully they really mean it as in very soon. This All-In-One features a 23-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD frameless display with optional 3D Vision support.

Other features include a 2nd generation Intel Core i3/i5/i7 processor, Intel HD 3000 integrated or NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M discrete graphics, up to 16GB DDR3 RAM, up to a 2TB hard drive, a 32GB SSD, a High-Sense webcam, DVD/Blu-ray drive, a 7-in-1 card reader, integrated TV tuner, WiFi, Bluetooth, two USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port and it comes pre-loaded with Windows 7 Home Premium OS.

Amazon UK has listed the upcoming 13-inch Lenovo Thinkpad X1 at the equivalent of $2,120. This Macbook Air competitor is set to arrive in the UK on May 20. It may be priced higher than an equivalent Macbook Air, but it packs in a current generation 2.5GHz Core i5-2520M and includes 4GB of Ram and 320GB of hard disk space.

As for thinness, the notebook is just 0.85-inches thin at it’s thinnest point and you can have the hard drive swapped for a 160GB SSD if you want, and it can accept an 8GB of ram in a single slot. There’s also a USB 3.0 port, an eSATA port and an SDXC slot. Battery life is 8 hours. Other features include a Gorilla Glass scratch resistant screen and a backlit keyboard.

Lenovo’s LePad finally showed up in China back in March. Nothing in the states, though we may see it eventually under a new name. And since we can’t have the tablet on our shores, here is the next best thing. An autopsy that splays it’s parts every which way, hopefully done with sanitized and clean instruments, so as not to cause infection. Not that that matters when your insides are all outside.

This teardown comes from IMP3. There aren’t many surprises, but it’s always fascinating to see under the hood. The LePad has a 1.3GHz Snapdragon chipset with Adreno 205 integrated graphics and an internal 27Wh battery. It’s also packs in Toshiba flash memory and a Wolfson audio processor.

The first of Lenovo’s S Series, the S205, is now available in the company’s online store. The base model is $499 and it boasts a 1.60Ghz dual-core AMD Fusion E-350 CPU, an 11.6-inch (1366 x 768 resolution) 16:9 widescreen panel, 3GB of DDR3 SDRAM, ATI Mobility Radeon 6310 graphics, and a 350GB HDD. Not bad right?

There are also two other higher cost versions with an extra gig of RAM, an optional Bluetooth radio, and a 500GB or 750GB HDD. The lesser of this pair is just $429 at LogicBuy until Wednesday, if you want to get a deal and don’t need Bluetooth in your life. The new S series was originally announce back at CES.

Lenovo has failed to keep the secret with a PowerPoint that reveals a new ThinkPad tablet for “on-the-go professionals.” And it isn’t a Windows 7 convertible either, but an Android 3.0 tablet with an optional pen and an “keyboard portfolio case.”

The whole thing weighs 1.6 pounds. Other features include an IPS display and a dual-core Tegra 2 processor. It also sports dual cameras, one in front and one in back, 16/32/64GB storage, USB 2.0, Micro USB, a mini HDMI port and an SD card slot. Wi-Fi and 3G models will be available. Sounds like a great tablet.

Looks like Intel will be re-entering the tablet market this year with Google’s operating system, Android. Some reports indicate that Intel will announce the release of Intel Android tablets later this year. Their plan is called PRC Plus, and will have Intel introducing Android 3.0 on tablets powered by their processors.

According to sources, Acer, Asus and Lenovo have agreed to start the plans for new products according to the Intel PRC Plus plan in the second half of this year and Cisco also plans to introduce products with Intel Oak Trail chips and Android 3.0.

Looks like Lenovo is working on a 23-inch tablet, a home tablet that could be arriving this year. Such a large tablet seems silly, but when you think about it, it makes sense. The tablet could be moved from room to room and used on tables as well as docked as an All-in-One. This provides a nice solution to multiple screens in the home.

The tablet is apparently based on the company’s All-in-One desktop range, but with a major weight reduction. If all goes well, it will be arriving in 2011. This will change how you interact with your computer at home. We can’t wait.

Toshiba will be closing down their LCD assembly line for at least a month and PC manufacturer Lenovo has voiced concerns that they are suffering from a parts shortage. Toshiba will also joined by Hitachi for a similar time period. Lives and safety take priority over our gadgets, so we hope that these companies take however much time they need. We will be just fine with the LCDs we already have.

This disruption could result in a global supply shortage which would definitely take a bite out of corporate profits and economic growth across the industry. Toshiba’s plant supplies the mobile phone industry as well as auto makers navigation displays, comprising around 5% of the global small LCD display market.

Intel has announced the Classmate+ PC developed with Lenovo. Much like it’s earlier versions, this model targets the educational segment and students in grades K through 8. The PC sits inside a rugged, drop-resistant exterior and it sports a spill-resistant keyboard.

In other words, it will survive a child’s use. The Classmate+ features an Atom N455 CPU accompanied by the Intel NM10 Express Chipset and comes with either 1 or 2 GB RAM. Lenovo adds a choice of storage with a 16GB SSD unit or 250GB HDD as available options.

We’ve all had to switch USB ports because charging your phone through your computer isn’t fast enough, but you need to connect your phone to your PC to transfer data. It’s a pain. Thankfully, Lenovo’s ThinkPad 65W AC Adapter with USB Hub is a good solution.

This AC Adaptor comes with 4 extra USB ports, one of which is always powered on as long as the adaptor is powered, so you can charge your device directly from the wall socket if you like. Just connect the Adaptor to your laptop’s USB port and power port so you won’t have to switch USB ports as long as it’s plugged to the “always on” port. Even when the laptop is off, it will keep charging.

Lenovo is now finally ready to get specific about a launch date for their upcoming LePad tablet, which was first announced back in June 2010. The tablet will ship in China in March before making its global debut in June.

However Lenovo is keeping the final specs quiet for now as well as which countries will be first to get it. We also don’t have a price yet. We do know that when we last saw it, it was sporting Android 2.2 with a custom “LeOS” skin, a 1.3GHz Snapdragon processor and 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 pixel display.

Apple’s MacBook Air is still enjoying being the slimmest notebook around, since the Dell Adamo has been axed. Soon it will have some competition though since Acer, Asus and Lenovo are all planning to launch new ultra-thin notebooks in the second quarter of 2011 and they will feature components that are more competitive than Apple’s MacBook Air.

That means that they can sell them at a lower price. Acer will release its new Timeline notebooks, Asus will has its U-series slim models and Lenovo is offering new ultra-thin models of its IdeaPad. The prices on these notebooks should be below $1,000.

Lenovo’s P717 Luxury Dual Smartphone sports 18 carat pink gold all over its back as well as Sharp’s 3.2-inch touchscreen with HVGA resolution, a MicroSD card and dual SIM card slots. It has more bling than power as usual though.

The camera is just a 3 megapixel camera. This smartphone will also be available in an understated steel chassis for those who don’t need to make a statement with bling. No word on availability and pricing just yet. Hopefully we will find out more soon.
