Toshiba Qosmio F755 arriving August 16th, for $1,699

The Qosmio F750 glasses-free 3D laptop is now called the F755. August 16th is the date when you’ll be able to pick up Toshiba’s latest 15.6-inch media machine starting at $1,699. The notebook packs in a Core i7 processor, 6GB of RAM, and a 750GB hard disk.

Other features include a Blu-ray drive, and GeForce GT 540M GPU. It won’t be able to convert 2D games to 3D out of the box, but Toshiba is working with Nvidia to deliver that feature by November, if you can wait that long. It starts shipping in about two weeks.

Electronic Rock Guitar Bag Plays Music

Most bags just hold stuff and that’s it. They do their job and nothing more. Well, ThinkGeek has a new offering that puts a playable instrument on it. It’s called the Electronic Rock Guitar Bag. The name says it all. This bag plays music.

The music plays through a little amplifier that you can hang on the front of the bag. How cool is that? The guitar is played by swiping your thumb across the strings on the bottom and you can make real chords on the neck. The bag has room for up to a 17-inch laptop and has two large pockets and six small pockets with a zippered phone pouch.

Acer reveals Aspire 5755 multimedia laptop

Acer’s latest laptop, the Aspire 5755, is for multimedia lovers who are on the go. It features Intel Core chips (with the i7-2820QM available in the premium configurations), and Nvidia GeForce GT 540M graphics with Nvidia’s Optimus tech.

Other features include 8GB of DDR3 memory, as much as 1TB of storage, and a 15.6 inch Acer CineCrystal LED-backlit TFT LCD screen with a maximum resolution of 1366×768. There’s also built Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) tech and an HDMI-output option.

Asus Announces Automobili Lamborghini VX7 Laptop

Asus has launched another Lamborghini themed laptop, the Asus Automobili Lamborghini VX7 laptop. This new Lamborghini themed laptop from Asus packs in Intel’s latest quad core Core i7 processors and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M graphics.

Other features include a 15.6 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and it comes with two 750GB hard drives, USB 3.0, 8GB of DDR3 RAM which can be expanded up to 16GB, a Blu-ray combo drive and Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

MSI 14 Inch CX480 Laptop With nVidia GeForce GT 520M

MSI has announced their new CX480 laptop which features an Intel 2nd generation Core i processor. You can get it with either a Core i5-2410 (2.30GHz) or Core i3-2310 (2.10GHz). It also packs in an nVidia GeForce GT520M discrete graphics card with 1GB of DDR3 display memory and supports DirectX 11 and automatic graphics switching to help your battery life.

It will also boot in half the time traditional laptops take. The hard drive is moved away from the edge and encased in a sort of air bag which should protect it if you drop the laptop. Nothing on price or availability yet.

Razer Transformers 3 Edition DeathAdder Mouse

Razer is offering another version of it’s DeathAdder mouse, this time it’s Transformers 3 themed and looks a bit tacky. It comes in your choice of red, yellow, silver and purple for $69.99 and the specs are identical to the version already on the market.

There’s also a dual-sided Vespula mouse mat for $44.99 to celebrate the film and four new colored laptop sleeves for $49.99 each. Transformers fans now have more gear to add to their buy list.

General Dynamics Itronix GD2000 Rugged Portable PC

If you are in the market for a rugged laptop, check out the GD2000 fully-rugged PC from General Dynamics Itronix. It features a 1.2GHz Intel Ultra Low Voltage Core Solo processor, a highly sensitive GPS and a 5.6-inch daylight-viewable DynaVue (1024 x 600) touchscreen display.

There’s also a hot swappable Lithium-ion battery pack, so you can replace the battery without system interruption. That’s pretty handy all by itself. A MicroDIMM memory expansion slot gives you increased memory space and it has an ergonomically designed keyboard.

Samsung Series 5 hits Europe on June 24th

Samsung’s giving folks in Europe some Chromebook goodness, so if you have a taste for Chrome and are European, this is some good news. The Samsung Series 5 will hit Europe this Friday for €399 (or £349) for the Wi-Fi model and €449 (or £399) for the 3G version.

The Chrome OS laptop will be available in the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and Italy for now with other countries getting it over the next few months. Are you getting one?

Samsung NC215S solar netbook headed for Russia

The sun is usually an enemy to laptops. Just try using your screen on a bright day. But in this case it will power your PC. First introduced for the African market, Samsung’s NC215S will be heading for Russia in August for 13,999 rubles ($479).

The lid is almost entirely a solar panel and so this netbook has an estimated battery life of 14.5 hours. The NC215S packs in a 1.6GHz N570 Intel Atom dual-core processor, 250GB of storage, and 1GB of RAM.

ASUS G74 gaming laptop available for pre-order

The ASUS G74 comes in two configurations, which both include a quad-core Core i7-2630QM CPU, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M graphics with 3GB of video memory, 12GB DDR3 RAM (out of 16GB), dual 750GB 7200RPM drives, a 1080p display, Blu-ray player, backlit keyboard, and a USB 3.0. socket (along with three 2.0).

The G74SX-A1 is $1,745. There’s also a $1,979 version with a 3D display, called the G74SX-3DE. You can pre-order them now.

Acer unveils Aspire Ethos laptops in the US and Canada

Acer’s new Aspire Ethos 8951G and 5951G laptops were already available for £999 in the UK and now they can be had in North America. The AS8951G and AS5951G feature 18.4-inch and 15.6-inch HD displays and USB 3.0 ports, along with Core i5 and Core i7 Sandy Bridge silicon and GeForce GT 555M graphics.

They also pack in 5.1 channel surround sound. The AS5951G and AS8951G are $1,400 and $1,600, respectively. Prices start at $1,200 and $1,500 CAD in Canada.

PHOTON 4G: Motorola’s first 4G phone for Sprint

Sprint and Motorola have announced the new Motorola PHOTON 4G. It was previously named the Droid X 2 before it was officially announced. This is Motorola’s first 4G phone on Sprint’s WiMAX network.

The PHOTON 4G has some impressive features: a dual-core 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, a 4.3″ qHD display, dual cameras, access to the Android Market, Sprint ID compatibility for easy customization, 16GB of memory with an SD card slot for up to an additional 32GB, Worldphone capabilities, and 3G/4G Mobile hotspot capability.

Acer Aspire Ethos laptops with detachable touchpads

Acer has announced two Aspire Ethos laptops for the multimedia enthusiast and they include detachable touchpads that can also act as remotes. The Aspire Ethos series laptops will be available later this month starting at £999, with two different sizes to choose from. There’s the standard 15.6in model and a 18.4in version.

The screens are Cinecrystal LED backlit units that are full HD 1920×1080 resolution on the 18.4in model and 1366×768 on the smaller 15.6in model. They come pre-loaded with Windows 7 64-bit versions of either Home Premium or Ultimate.
