Dell Inspiron Duo knockoff

Posted in Notebooks by Conner Flynn on December 5th, 2010

Hey look at this. A Dell Inspiron Duo knockoff. Naturally it’s smaller in size and less powerful than the real deal. The Dell Inspiron Duo has one big feature going for it that we had never seen before. That’s why it wowed most of us. And that’s why the knockoff makers didn’t waste any time with this design.

But as usual, they don’t get that we want good specs, even in a knockoff. It’s powered by an Intel Atom N450 processor with GMA 3150 graphics, includes 1GB of RAM, a 120GB hard drive, swiveling 8.9-inch capacitive touchscreen (1024 X 600), two USB ports, an SD card slot, LAN port, VGA output, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and a 2 megapixel webcam.

Dyson Air Multiplier bladeless fan copied

Posted in Dyson by Shane McGlaun on September 6th, 2010

The first time I laid eyes on that crazy looking Dyson Air Multiplier fan, I thought it looked pretty darn cool. I could certainly see that thing sitting on my desk keeping me cool during the hot Texas summer. I can’t see paying the $299 price for it though.

A company from Asia called Abiko has created its own knock-off of that Dyson fan and it looks so much like the Dyson version that the company even strapped the thing with a similar price. The Abiko knock-off will sell for $223 at MSRP.

Palm Pre, now with iPhone home button

Posted in Mobile Phones by Conner Flynn on August 26th, 2010

Can’t decide between a Palm Pre or an iPhone? Why not get both in this clone, which comes in the form of the Palm Pre, with the iPhone home button. On the hardware side, it features a QWERTY keyboard, that iPhone home button and an operating system that tries to pass itself off as iOS.

It also supports dual SIM, with two cameras, a 3″ touchscreen display at 240 x 400 resolution, a microSD memory card slot, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It’s compatible only with GSM networks.

Clamshell phone that looks like an Adidas sneaker

Posted in Mobile Phones by Conner Flynn on August 11th, 2010

When knockoff makers get creative it’s always a surprise because they are so uncreative the rest of the time. Here we have an Adidas flip phone. The Adidas brand is even spelled correctly and it actually looks like a shoe. Adidas should be running with this idea and making an official phone themselves.

This “adidass808″ is not that great when it comes to specs though. It features a 2.4 inch screen (240 X 320), dual SIM card slots and camera (1.3 megapixel), FM radio, micro-SD card slot, mini-USB port, and a removable battery. It’s based on GSM, and runs “MTK platform”. There’s also up to 4 hours of standby time and 3 hours of talking time.

iPad knockoff runs Android, has a Camera, costs just $129

Posted in iPad by Conner Flynn on July 26th, 2010

This is one fake iPad that sure is tempting. It runs Android for one thing and is similarly styled to the iPad. It sports a 7″ touchscreen LCD with a 800×480 resolution. Under the hood it’s running on 2GB NAND Flash, and it can be expanded via SDHC TF cards to 16GB.

There’s also wifi, a 0.3 megapixel camera, 2 USB ports, and it even comes with a dongle that adds an ethernet jack and two USB ports.

Moonse iPad knockoff is smaller, runs Android

Posted in iPad by Conner Flynn on April 15th, 2010

We’ve seen plenty of iPad clones, but Moonse’s new E-7001 tablet will sell for as little as 900 Chinese yuan (or about $130) if it is ever available. For that price you get a 7-inch touchscreen, a 600MHz Rockchip RK2808 processor (which might be upgraded to a Cortex-A8 before launch), Android 1.5, an SD card slot, built-in WiFi, and five hours of battery life.

It’s a bit thicker than an iPad, and supposedly weighs just 0.7 pounds, which is about half the iPad’s weight. There’s also a front-facing camera and a USB port.

Conny Q3 sports game console: A pink, round Wii knockoff

Posted in Games by Conner Flynn on June 23rd, 2009

Conny Q3 sports game console: A pink, round Wii knockoffThis oddly-shaped pink gadget is the Conny Q3 Sports, a video game console from where else? China. It’s designed to play like the Nintendo Wii, just cheaper and crappier. The Q3 Sports sells for just $99 and includes 5 games. That’s gotta keep you entertained for at least 15 minutes. Plus it looks like a Wii designed by a female razor company.

The Conny Q3 includes a wireless 3D motion-sensing controller, but it isn’t as powerful as their Wii competitor. Mostly because it plays ONLY those 5 games. Nothing else. I hope you like “Hot Dance”, fishing, bowling, golf or tennis. Excuse me, “tennies”.

iPhone 3G Knockoff: The iPhome 3G

Posted in iPhone by Conner Flynn on June 22nd, 2009

iPhone 3G Knockoff: The iPhome 3GAs far as looks, this iPhone 3G knockoff is dead on, even featuring an OS X-inspired interface. It’s the best iPhone clone we’ve seen yet. Which makes us kinda proud of these knockoff artists. It shows that they actually can do decent work.

On the inside, you’ll find a 400-MHz Samsung CPU, 4GB of memory, and a 3.5-inch touch screen. Buy one for someone you love today. Like your grandma. She will never know, but still think she’s hip actually owning an iPhone 3G like all of those crazy kids.

PS3 Slim spyshots hit with Cease and Desist

Posted in PS3 by Conner Flynn on May 18th, 2009

Slim PS3 spotted?Remember that slim PS3 we told you about the other day? Looks like Engadget and Ubergizmo both received cease and desist emails from some mysterious Chinese manufacturer.

Why would a Chinese manufacturer, who is not Sony, be sending these out? Are they trying to protect their knockoff? We have no idea. But our guess would be that the emails could be coming from say, the manufacturer of the box or something. Because otherwise, it’s just too silly to think that a knockoff company is trying to protect their inferior crap product.

Nokia E75 clone plays NES games

Posted in Mobile Phones by Conner Flynn on May 17th, 2009

Nokia E75 clone plays NES gamesIt may look real…in a cheap plastic sort of way, but don’t let it’s looks fool you. This Nokia E75 clone is not from Nokia by a long shot. But hey, you do get a built-in NES emulator that lets you play all your favorite old school games on-the-go.

Some other features include a 2.6-inch LCD display, 1.3-megapixel camera, and a built-in FM tuner. Even a “magical voice” feature. Other than the NES feature, there’s very little to love with this knockoff.

The PXP-900 looks familiar

Posted in Handheld Entertainmnet by Conner Flynn on April 29th, 2009

pxp-900_1-480x389We’ve seen our share of gaming and gadget rip-offs, but this is one of the most blatant knockoffs we’ve seen in a while. Look familiar? Why it looks exactly like a Sony PSP. And while the PXP-900 clones the style, it doesn’t bother with the titles, instead, sticking to retro gaming ROMs.

The PXP-900 can handle classic titles from the NES, Famicom, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Super Famicom and SEGA MegaDrive. Onboard storage is 2GB, and it functions as a PMP too, playing up to 25fps 320 x 240 video in a bunch of formats on a 4.3-inch display.

Fake Lamborghini Vertu phone from China

Posted in Mobile Phones by Conner Flynn on April 20th, 2009

Fake Lamborghini Vertu phone from ChinaKnockoff phones must be pretty profitable for those who knock them off. After all, they just keep coming. This one is an oddball because there is no such thing as a Vertu Lamborghini phone, making this clone something of an “original”.

Thing is, it isn’t an authentic Vertu, and they don’t have the support of Lamborghini. But hey, some people just have to try to look classy with fake stuff.

NokiPhone N3000i: Dual-slider iPhone clone

Posted in Mobile Phones by Conner Flynn on April 19th, 2009

NokiPhone N3000i: Dual-slider iPhone cloneHey, that looks familiar. Where have I seen that before? Oh yeah, now I remember. The China-produced NokiPhone N3000i is an iPhone ripoff with N95-type dual slider capabilities. The GSM smartphone features a 3.2-inch QVGA screen, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, dual SIM support, microSD slot, and video recording capabilities.

It will cost you $129 right now, on sale from its $400 MSRP. At least it has features. China, will you never learn? Combining two great things into one is clever and all, but when will you make a knockoff that really captures our hearts?
