The backpack has a removable battery inside that promises 7 hours of power depending on what you hook to it. The battery pack has four pockets and has enough outlets to charge three of those USB gadgets at the same time.

iPad 3G buyers in UK can get cheap data plan by being sneaky

Posted in Apple by Shane McGlaun on May 14th, 2010

Here in the US AT&T did us a solid with nice data plans at a good price. Over in the UK fans of the iPad looking to get the 3G version might be looking to save some coin on a data plan and there is a way to save even more than the already cut rate pricing on iPad data.

ITProPortal reports that if you have an account with Orange that has a SIM card at the £5 monthly rate for 500MB of data you can use that SIM in your iPad 3G with some tweaking. Presumably, you can buy the dongle before the iPad just to get the SIM card as well.

Quirky Switch multi tool for geeks

Posted in Outdoors by Shane McGlaun on April 27th, 2010

I learned watching MacGyver as a kid that a Swiss Army knife can turn a single person into an entire army. I have had Swiss Army knives before, but I always lose them or forget to put them in my pocket.

Quirky has announced a new and geeky version of a Swiss Army knife called the Switch that is modular and lets the user choose what tools and how many tools are installed on the knife. The Switch will be made in a run of 1250 devices and is up for pre-sale now for $68.

And it does more than just shoot Victorian-clad villains dead. There’s a fork, knife, spoon, lighter, USB drive, watch, lamp, screwdriver, pipe, toothbrush, sawing blade, nail clipper and two extra mines. Pretty awesome.

iFrogz sent us a pair of their new EarPollution CS40 headphones for review. They come in several stylish colors and actually look pretty nice compared to what’s out there on the headphones market, so we were eager to give them a go and see if they are worth the $39.99 price.

Softbank unveils new Hello Kitty phoneAnother day another Hello Kitty phone. This one is all lit up like the Kitty went to Vegas and had a good old time. Probably counted some cards, drank too much, got into a knife fight, had a three way with some dancers and narrowly escaped a mob hit.

The 942H KT is pretty much an average flip phone, but when opened the pink highlights and Hello Kitty logo show up. Some other features include: 1-Seg television viewing, 3D gaming, GPS, electronic wallet features, and 3G. Nothing on pricing, but when the kitty shows up, girls empty their wallets.

Foodle is a fork, knife and spoon that lets you doodle

Posted in Concepts by Conner Flynn on October 5th, 2009

Foodle is a fork, knife and spoon that lets you doodleKids love to doodle. And they love to do all kinds of things at the table rather than eating the meal in front of them. Well, the Foodle should have them covered at the dinner table. It’s a fork spoon and knife that they can eat with using one end and a colored pencil on the other.

It lets kids eat and doodle on placemats simultaneously. How much do you want to bet that kids confuse which end is which and continually stab themselves? Foodle is just a concept for now, thank god. Otherwise there would be a lot of kids with eye patches.

Anti-Stab Knife prevents “accidental” kitchen stabbings

Posted in Kitchen by Conner Flynn on June 15th, 2009

Anti-Stab Knife prevents "accidental" kitchen stabbingsIt’s no wonder that we didn’t come up with the first anti-stab knife here in the states. We have more than enough guns to kill whomever we choose. But in the UK, gun laws are a little stricter. That means more stabbings using the common kitchen knife. But now the first anti-stab knife is ready for sale there.

The designer says that the knife will cut vegetables, but will supposedly make it almost impossible to stab someone to death and will also reduce the risk of accidental injuries.
