JBL On Air Wireless dock hits the FCC

The FCC has recently looked at the On Air Wireless dock from JBL. This device is the company’s first AirPlay-capable speaker dock. On Air Wireless will allow users to play from a docked iPhone or iPod, and also push audio over a Wi-Fi connection. It will also be compatible with your iPad or computer. All while looking like a toy steering wheel.

The device features a generous LCD display located on the dock that displays the current time, track info or FM radio station. We don’t know when this dock will arrive, but we will likely be seeing it at CES next month.

Griffin iTrip Universal FM Transmitter

Griffin has launched a new iTrip FM transmitter for iPods, iPhones and MP3 players, called the Griffin iTrip Universal. It comes with an integrated 3.5mm audio cable, a built in display, and two user programmable presets. The device is powered by two AA batteries and comes with an optional window mount for your dashboard or car windshield.

iTrip sends the music from your player to the closest FM receiver, in your car or at home, through your stereo speakers. Expect it to be available in the first Quarter of 2011, with the iTrip costing $25 and the optional window mount costing $20.

EFO Rechargeable Mini Loud-Speaker

Most speaker docks are sized for use in the home or office instead of on the go. So, EFO has announced a new speaker dock sized for portability. It even has a rechargeable battery inside. EFO’s Rechargeable Mini Loud-speaker is priced just right too, at just $22.

The lithium battery can power the speaker dock and charge your iPod, while the aluminum vibration film loud speaker is designed for sound quality. The internal battery is charged via USB and it also features a memory card slot and a USB port for playing music directly for removable media.

Kenwood launches CLX-70 iPod and iPhone Speaker Dock

Kenwood Japan has launched the CLX-70 iPod and iPhone speaker dock, which uses DTS Envelo speakers along with three-dimensional soundstage and is powered by a 30W amp. Connection options include the 30-pin Dock Connector, USB port, SD card slot and a CD drive that supports MP3 files.

The CLX-70 will play nice with the iPhone 3G, 3GS and the iPhone 4, iPod touch, second-generation iPod nano and the iPod classic. It will be available in three colors and will hit the Japanese market this month.

Gear4′s latest iPhone/iPod dock, the HouseParty AirWave does more than just dock your iDevice. It also offers access to Internet radio stations and users can control the dock over Wi-Fi using an iOS app. You can search for and tune into Internet, DAB and FM radio stations.

It also has the ability to let you control a docked iPod or iPhone, but you’ll need to do it using another iOS device. Other features include two three-inch 20W speakers, a 3.5mm aux input and media streaming support from storage devices.

Altec Lansing announces Octiv Stage iPad dock

Altec Lansing is introducing the Octiv Stage iPad dock, which will keep your iPad charged when connected and allow you to position your iPad in a horizontal or vertical configuration. The rotating arm will also allow you to tilt the display for comfortable viewing or typing.

The device will cost you $150 and comes with a wireless remote. It’s two 50mm neodymium speakers are specially tuned to deliver a more center performance, which is better for dialogue, aside from stereo audio. iPods and iPhones are also compatible and non-Apple hardware can be hooked up via a 3.5mm auxiliary jack.

JVC NX-TC7 iPod dock with 7 inch screen

The NX-TC7 from JVC Japan is an iPod dock with a 7 inch screen, CD player and a Radio. It will be available in white and black and the unit can playback Youtube videos from your iPod / iPhone on the 7 inch screen as well as images from a USB drive.

The speakers deliver an output of 15W×2ch and it comes with a remote control. It will be available in Japan by early November for 60,000 Yen (or $660).

Denon RCD-N7 Apple AirPlay CD Receiver

In Japan Denon has released the RCD-N7 Apple AirPlay CD Receiver. The $599 unit looks clean and simple and will work with compatible speakers. It boasts an iPhone dock and a USB jack and can also handle audio streaming from Rhapsody, Napster, Pandora and Last.fm.

The Party Mode Plus setting lets you enjoy a five-system multi-zone setup, and Denon’s new iPod/iPhone/iPad Remote App will handle everything. The RCD-N7 will be available next month.

Sony’s boom beverage speaker now available to Americans

Japanese commuters have been able to get Sony Japan’s SRS-V500IP for awhile, but us yanks have had to do without. Not anymore. Audiocubes.com has brought it to the US. It’s an iPod friendly version of the RDP-NWV500 sound mug. It’s also available in black, orange, and pink, and has the same Circle Sound Stage speaker system for a full 360 degrees.

A 3.5mm audio jack is thrown in to connect to other devices as well. It’s priced at $240.

iHome outs iP3 iPod/iPhone speaker dock

iHome has announced its latest speaker dock for Apple’s iPod and iPhone with the iP3. It succeeds it’s predecessor, the iP1 and uses Bongiovi Acoustics’ Digital Power Station automatic sound adjustment technology and also has a component video output for playing back videos on a connected TV.

The dock holds a 50W class D amp that drives two 3.5-inch speakers. There’s also an adjustable bass and treble controls. Composite (RCA) video is also included as well as a 3.5mm audio input to connect other audio sources to the iP3′s speakers.
