That means that most users need a set of headphones of some sort to be able to listen to the music and some aftermarket sets lack a mic to allow you to place and receive calls.

Klipsch is well known for the quality speakers that it produces and is known for often making some of the more expensive gear on the market. The company has announced a new set of in-ear earphones for mobile phones called the S2M that are priced well. The headset features a 3.5mm headphone jack and a compact in-line mic.

Buffalo’s new multipurpose stereo speakersThe BSSP07 from Buffalo is a new series of stereo speakers that you can use with MP3 players, mobile phones, or iPods. They aren’t much to look at, but they do the job and are available in four different colors.

The speaker will give you up to 800mWatt x 2ch, which should be enough for use in any small room. The Buffalo BSSP07 requires four AA batteries or a spare USB port to operate. Nothing on pricing just yet, but it shouldn’t cause you too much pain.

The idea is that you can stack as many of the modules as you like, which lets you have multiple speakers, lights, even air purifiers. Usually iPod docks are pretty boring, but this one opens up a whole world of possibilities.

Maybe they could add a messaging screen on the front and it could display your instant messages. Maybe one could be a USB hub, or have a hard drive. The possibilities are endless.

Bluray soundbar with iPhone dock from PhilipsPhilips has announced its expanded home theater lineup for 2009, with the HTS8160B Soundbar. The compact home theater setup includes a Blu-ray disc player with DVD and CD playback support, built-in speakers and a separate subwoofer.

The soundbar also supports Dolby True HD audio format and 7.1 channel surround sound. You’ll also get an iPod/iPhone dock and a touchscreen remote control. It will cost you around $1,500 and is currently available in Singapore. We don’t know if or when it will hit North America.

Samson Expedition XP308iSamson has just released the Expedition XP308i, a portable 8-channel mixer that comes with a built-in iPod dock and dual two-way speakers. It packs a 300-watt power amplifier inside, along with 8″ woofers in 2-way vented enclosures, and a couple of internal 150W Class D amplifiers.

It was specially designed to not weigh a ton and make it easy to carry around. You’ll also get four mic/line inputs, two stereo inputs, and the ability to control the bass and treble. The Expedition XP308i will be available in June for $680.
