Review: The Eco Media player |

I got my Eco Media Player about 2 weeks ago and I’ve been checking out it’s various functions. The device has several features like a video player, music player, fm radio, LED torch, photo viewer, hi-fi recorder, memo recorder, data storage device and a mobile phone charger. You charge the device via USB, but if you don’t have a computer nearby it can be hand cranked to recharge the juice via a fold-out handle on the rear.
They claim that 40 minutes of audio play requires only one minute of self powering. Actually when I put that to the test I got a whole lot more. Closer to 2 hours. I don’t know if that is typical or not, but I let the battery deplete to nothing before I wound it. So that was a plus. I loaded a few videos and the conversion software is pretty effortless. The quality of the video is surprisingly crisp and clean for the small 1.8″ color screen. No complaints there.

Geneva Lab, a maker of iPod sound systems, has apparently unveiled a new model for iPod owners which comes in a single wood cabinet. The new Geneva Sound System Model M is available in three body colors and priced around $500.

Cambridge Soundworks, one of the subsidiary brands of Creative, occasionally puts out products which look impressive. Its latest is the Cambridge SoundWorks i765, an iPod speaker system announced yesterday and priced at around $500.

The 14 M.P.H. Cooler – yup, a cooler with an engine. Not your typical gadget but still quite amusing to us so it makes the grade. Grab your favorite six pack and load it up for on the go drinking for close to a mere $500.
Looking for something radically different in iPod speaker system design? Here’s a new item which looks to buck the trend: the Boynq WakeUp. It’s on sale for around $130.
Onkyo recently announced a new home theater in a box system which is in tune with the HDMI v1.3a standard. The Onkyo HT-SP908 is priced at around $1,100.
Take an advanced music management system. Throw it into a traditional jukebox design. What do you get? The new Qsonix QJB110 Nostalgic Digital Jukebox, which at this point seems not to have any pricing or release information available, though we have to imagine it’s going to be pricey.
This iPod speaker dock from Taiwan’s Nova has a transparent, waterproof covering that looks like a tube of some sort of lotion or gel, complete with a whole in the end where it would hang on display at the store. The idea is to provide a waterproof speaker system for your iPod that lets you bring it into the shower. It also looks like you might even be able to control the iPod through the case but in reality to us it looks like just a cheap way to try to make a waterproof dock.
While we’re pretty sure we’ve seen
