Dock your iPod in Vestalife’s ladybug

Vestalife’s ladybug iPod dock

This is one of the neater iPod docks that I have seen. The Vestalife ladybug iPod dock is not just another boring place to park your iPod. It has a digital amplifier, built-in-subwoofer for extra bass, and a cool remote that resembles an iPod. It comes in a nice shiny red or gray finish and yes it resembles a ladybug. Especially when open. When closed it just plain looks cool. This is an iPod dock that’s all about style.

Of course, it also charges the iPod and can run on AC or battery. Another plus is the USB port that has been integrated to sync your iPod when it sits in the speaker.

The Triple Timer comes with a familiar look

Posted in Clocks, Kitchen by Reuben Drake on November 3rd, 2007

Triple timer kitchen timer looks like an iPodThis Triple Timer kitchen timer has a very familiar look to it; if I could only put finger on just what it is. This timer gets its name from its ability to have three different timers running simultaneously allowing you to keep track of cooking times for your multi-course meals. It also houses a clock which is all viewable on a large backlit LCD display. Below the display is a circular set of navigation buttons to control and set the timers and clock. The multi-timer comes in a white color which rounds out the familiar aesthetic features of this iPod look-a-like.

The Triple Timer runs on two AA batteries and the first set comes packages with it along with a docking station, er.. a base to set the timer in. The timer goes for $19.95 from Williams Sonoma.

Our first Sick Brick item is a nostalgic sci-fi robot from the past. This genuine animatronic Lost In Space B-9 Robot, priced around a jaw dropping $24,500, is 6-1/2 feet tall and can speak some 511 prerecorded phrases. All phrases were done by Richard Tufeld, the original voice of the robot from the television series. Music Tube waterproof iPod speaker dockThis iPod speaker dock from Taiwan’s Nova has a transparent, waterproof covering that looks like a tube of some sort of lotion or gel, complete with a whole in the end where it would hang on display at the store. The idea is to provide a waterproof speaker system for your iPod that lets you bring it into the shower. It also looks like you might even be able to control the iPod through the case but in reality to us it looks like just a cheap way to try to make a waterproof dock.

cy-fi iPod dock and speakers for your bikeWhile we’re pretty sure we’ve seen bicycle speakers before, including ones for the iPod, cy-fi is a new product designed to dock your iPod and the first we’ve seen to provide wireless speakers mounted on your bike to “ride louder” according to the company.

The idea comes from bike riders who wear headphones to listen to music and are unable to adequately hear traffic around them. The cy-fi system lets them bring their music along in a compact package without the ambient sound restrictions by most headphones.
