Stackable iPod dock concept

Posted in Concepts by Conner Flynn on July 12th, 2009

Stackable iPod dock conceptHere’s an interesting concept that makes the iPod dock more practical. The idea is that you can stack as many of the modules as you like, which lets you have multiple speakers, lights, even air purifiers. Usually iPod docks are pretty boring, but this one opens up a whole world of possibilities.

Maybe they could add a messaging screen on the front and it could display your instant messages. Maybe one could be a USB hub, or have a hard drive. The possibilities are endless.

iLive Portable Boom Box Dock for iPod looks like a purse

Posted in iPod Accessories by Conner Flynn on July 5th, 2009

iLive Portable Boom Box Dock for iPod looks like a purseLooks like iLive has updated its iPod Boombox from its earlier version from a few years ago. The latest generation keeps the same similar design intact, but with a little more of a purse feeling. Will the ladies love these? Somehow I doubt it.

The design is curvier and compliments the latest iPod Nano pretty nice if you like this sort of thing. The iLive Portable Dock for iPod with Radio IB109P will play all iPod generations and will let you connect just about any external music source via the AUX jack. The AM/FM radio gives you an option aside from what’s on your device.

Einstein Sound Master Photon Ball iPod Dock

Posted in iPod Accessories by Conner Flynn on July 1st, 2009

Einstein Sound Master Photon Ball iPod DockLooking for an iPod dock for your mad science lab? The Einstein Sound Master Photon Ball iPod Dock sounds pretty impressive, but in reality it’s just one of those fancy electro-static orbs attached to a dock. Which is cool, don’t get us wrong, but it’s also kind of too much. The colored ball pulsates and flashes to the beat of the music.

It also changes colors and looks all pretty-like. Just sit your iPod in the dock, and think about what it would look like if it had hair electro-rocked by this orb. Some other features are a clock with an alarm, AM/FM radio tuner and more.

Posted in Clocks by Shane McGlaun on June 23rd, 2009

iluvbedshaker-sbI have never been one to have a hard time getting up in the morning. My alarm goes off to music and I am up and about my day. My wife on the other hand could sleep through a tornado and never wake up. Her alarm usually wakes me up and then I have to shake her awake to get her to turn it off.

If you are the sort that needs more than a buzzer or music to wake up, the new iLuv iMM153 alarm clock with bed shaker for iPod may be just what you need. The clock supports all dockable iPods and has a 3.5mm auxiliary jack for the devices that can’t be docked.

Lego robot dock assimilates iPods

Posted in Robots by Conner Flynn on June 17th, 2009

Lego Robot dock assimilates iPodsYou ask us, this is a pretty cool use of Legos. And if companies don’t want to build robot iPod docks, then damnit, we will make our own. The creator actually built this bot-dock about 2 years ago, and only recently decided that it was time to share it with the internet.

The dock is a cannibalized iPod mini dock, and the robot/base is a mashup of several lego kits. (The AT-AT on the right claw gives it away. That, and the LEGOLAND sticker which came with Lego Soccer.) You can find more pics on flickr.

Atari 2600 iPod dockPut together two iconic classics and you can never go wrong. In this case it’s the iPod and the Atari 2600. The homemade dock puts the iPod connector where the cartridge used to go,(you’re probably using your cartridges as wallets anyway).

How could this be better? With the iPhone of course. With an LCD in the middle so you could play iPhone games properly with controllers. When iPod and Atari 2600′s meet, it’s like geek destiny. It’s a love that will endure forever.
