Krell Papa Dock

There are iPod accessores and then there are IPOD ACCESSORIES. The latter is the one we look at here with the new Krell KID and Papa Dock, priced at around $1,500 and $2,500, respectively.

Krell, which also has a nice $50k preamp/processor, does up iPod accessories like we haven’t really seen before. JVC NX-PN7 dual iPod docking station clock radioToday JVC finally officially launched that dual iPod docking station we saw earlier this year at CES which has the ability to dock two iPods at the same time. The NX-PN7 stands out from the crowd of endless iPod accessories since it can hold not one but two iPods, or an iPod and an iPhone, charging and playing from either of them.

The dual iPod dock also features an AM/FM clock radio and video out to output your video media to a television. Alesis ProTrack Digital Audio Recorder for the Apple iPodAlesis has come out with a product recently that takes advantage of the popularity and significant storage capacity available in the Apple iPods with a new digital stereo recorder that integrates with the media player. They’ve even included a threaded mount on the bottom to hold it steady with things like a camera tripod.

Test Tube digital clock will not produce babies

Test Tube digital clock will not produce babies
I love all kinds of stuff with vacuum tubes. They just look cool and remind me of a different era. I love me some iPod docks with tubes, amps, and clocks. Even this “test tube” clock looks pretty neat, even if they’re not real vacuum tubes or test tubes that have chemicals in them or a tiny lifeform.

It’s basically just a bunch of numbers with glass domes over each. It doesn’t quite match the style and warmth of a Nixie clock, but hey to each his own. It does have a cool retro look. It’s $75.

Wood WWII Radio with iPod dock

It blends the old with the new pretty nicely. It looks a bit more modern on top, while the bottom half resembles a period airplane cockpit.

It’s from the folks over at spiritofstlouis.co.uk, where you can find many such nostalgic radios with today’s technology inside. In addition to holding your iPod, this radio is a 3 Band radio with CD Player that can be powered by batteries or electric. Being a fairly unique item, it sells for £299.99.

iPhone or iPod touch rotating alarm clock

iPhone or iPod touch rotating alarm clock
Here’s a pretty decent looking and unique alarm clock setup for your iPhone or iPod touch. It was designed specifically for both devices, taking advantage of their screen. This way you have your device and a slick looking clock both on display. Just like all the other docks, the iH41 will charge the player and throw out the audio.

The interesting feature here is that when you turn it on its side to view your device horizontally, the clock on the dock rotates so you can still read the time. The dock has an auxiliary jack that should be compatible with just about any MP3 player if you haven’t jumped on the iWagon yet. It will cost you $79.99 and it ships in July.

Creative TravelSound portable speaker, now for the iPod nano

Posted in Speakers by Darrin Olson on May 23rd, 2008

Creative Travelsound portable speaker for the iPod nanoCreative has launched a new addition to it’s line of portable speakers with the TravelSound for the iPod nano. This one-piece speaker attaches to the docking port of Apple’s nano and pumps out the sound to share with others. This new TravelSound speaker appears very similar to the TravelSound i50 that we saw last fall for the iPod nano, and the design is no doubt inspired by it.

The new TravelSound portable speaker is relatively small and lets the 3rd generation nano fit right into the design giving it an overall thickness of less than an inch with 3.9 inches in total height. It also comes with a little plastic stand, and if you can keep from losing it since it’s not attached, will provide a safer rest for the speaker with your iPod in it.
