JVC’s New Dual-Dock Speaker System for iPad and iPhone

JVC is now shipping the UX-VJ3B speaker system. It not only looks awesome, but the UX-VJ3B has dual-dock support for the iPad and iPhone at the same time. It’s also affordable at $199.99 and will mount your iPad and iPhone side by side.

Features include a horizontal iPad dock, a rotatable dock for the iPod and iPhone, detachable speakers, auxiliary audio input, mini-USB input, a subwoofer output, a video output, and AM/FM tuner. There’s also an alarm clock, a sleep timer, and a remote.

Onkyo has announced the X-U1 Micro Hi-Fi system in Japan. This system is priced at 35,000 Yen and for your money the music player features a CD player, an FM tuner, a pair of speakers (15W x 2ch output) and of course a USB port.

Other features include an iPod/iPhone/iPad cradle and a remote controller, so you can control the Onkyo X-U1 from anywhere you want. The X-U1 is also compatible with MP3 files. It has your music needs covered.

JBL AirPlay-Enabled On Air Wireless Speaker System Ships

JBL has now started shipping their new On Air Wireless Speaker System which is specially designed for iOS devices. This is among the first AirPlay-enabled speakers capable of streaming iTunes 10 music or Internet radio directly from your computer. We also love that it looks like it belongs in a spaceship cockpit.

This speaker system can use your existing Wi-Fi or Ethernet to connect to your PC or Mac iTunes library and makes the link with Apple’s AirPlay technology. It also sports a small LCD screen so you can see the album artwork and song info when an iOS device is not docked.

TDK Sound Cube

TDK was a big name back in the days of cassettes, but they really haven’t done anything in the last many years, until recently with their retro boombox, and now this portable stereo. And judging by how awesome these devices look, we are glad to have them back.

The Sound Cube costs $300 and is part of TDK’s Life on Record audio series. The 17-pound portable enclosure measures 9.8″ x 9.8″ x 9.8″ and features a pair of 5-1/4″ full-range coax drivers, and the other two sides have passive reflectors that look like speakers. You place it in the center of your room and it pumps sound out.

Here’s something that we don’t see everyday. This Avi Stylix iPod / iPhone docking station sports a built in 7-inch LCD capable of streaming Netflix. Other features include a Dock Connector port, twin two-watt speakers, USB port, SD card slot and a remote.

It will also stream Netflix, as mentioned, but just be aware that you’ll need an iPhone or iPod touch with a live internet connection. That’s because there is no WiFi module built into the device itself. Still, it’s a neat trick for a dock, especially at just $99.99. Not bad at all.

Trembo Trunks amplify your earbuds while using no power

Sometimes you want to share the music on your iPod, but all you have are tiny speakers that sound like crap. Well, two designers from Sydney, Australia have your back. Trembo Trunks are rubber “speakers” that will help you amplify the sounds coming out of your earbuds.

They are lightweight, durable and best of all they require no power. Just plug your headphones into the speakers and hit play. It’s that simple. Any sound played through the headphones is amplified up to 80dB and they can be placed anywhere you want, so you can get stereo sounds from them. They are looking for funding on Kickstarter, and have met their goal.

Parrot, leaders in all kinds of wireless peripherals, has launched the Zikmu Parrot by Starck: Dragon Red speakers. The design is tall as the name is long and like the name implies, they are in bold red.

Some features include an iPod or iPhone docking station and you can listen to web radio using a dedicated iPhone/iPod touch application. They also offer Wi-Fi and Bluetooth audio streaming as well as browsing and control.

JVC TH-BC3 and TH-BC1 Soundbars

JVC’s TH-BC3 and TH-BC1 soundbars look pretty sweet. They use SRS StudioSound HD which processes up to 6.1 channels for playback over two speakers or headphones. The entry-level JVC TH-BC1 is a 60-watt (30 watts per channel) two-channel SRS StudioSound HD front surround soundbar that features a built-in FM tuner, an analog input and two digital audio inputs, and a subwoofer pre-out.

The high-end JVC TH-BC3 has a push-open dock for your iPod and iPhone, an HDMI 1.4 port, 3D Video ready pass through, ARC (Audio Return Channel), an FM tuner and a video output for iPod and iPhone. So how much do they cost? The JVC TH-BC1 will be available in January for $149.95, while the JVC TH-BC3 will be released in February for $249.95.

For those of you who enjoy getting your entertainment through a helmet, check out this Moto GP Helmet Sound System. It’s a lot like this one. This one is built to look like a standard sized helmet, keeping your iPod (or iPhone) just behind the visor.

Another iPad 2 case shows up with slots for mesh speakers

We recently saw some leaked pics of new iPad cases for the next-generation Apple iPad, and interestingly they had a large opening at the bottom of the case. Some speculated that it was for larger speakers or a built-in SD card slot.

Now another iPad case has surfaced that shows the rear with a metal mesh for an iPad speaker. This comes after recent reports hinted that the slot is for a speaker instead of an SD card slot.

Another day, another Star Wars themed gadget, This time it’s the Funko 501 Clone Trooper fold-up headphones, which are compatible with most MP3 players, iPods and PMPs. And of course they feature the head of a Clone Trooper.

We aren’t sure how durable these are, but these lightweight headphones also feature 40mm stereo sound speakers and a standard 3.5mm audio jack. They weigh in at just 9.6 ounces.
