There are all kinds of gadgets for cyclists and now there’s an iPhone app/accessory kit for them as well. The finishing touches are still being worked on, but they’ve made their Pedal Brain kit official anyway. Think of it as a Nike+ for cyclists.

It comes with a case accessory that uses the ANT+ wireless protocol to relay all of the information from your bike. That info is processed and analyzed by the Pedal Brain app. Pedal Brain also features a coaching feature that will let you make your own training plans and sell them through the app (They take a $4 a month cut).

Some screenshots of the upcoming Samsung bada OS have leaked and it’s no surprise that it looks more or less like the company’s TouchWiz UI. bada will be an open platform like Android in hopes that developers will do all the hard work, tweak it and make it better.

Your handset will need a minimum 800 x 480 resolution display in order to get the most out bada and multi-touch gestures are supported so it can compete with the likes of Apple’s iPhone OS.

There is no shortage of accessories on the market for the iPhone and the iPod. There are a plethora of docks and cradles that let you play music through your car or home stereo. Most of the docks require the iPhone to be plugged into them though.

Belkin has announced a new Belkin Bluetooth Music Receiver that uses Bluetooth to wirelessly stream music from your iPhone to the home stereo. The device has a wireless range of 33 feet and works with all generation iPhones and the 2ng generation iPod touch.

Merry Christmas to the international community. The Kindle app for iPhone has launched internationally in over 60 countries. It’s very good news, tinged with some bad. The bad news? It will be localized in English.

You won’t need to find a workaround anymore. Maybe now Amazon can concentrate on adding some non-English-language books to the Kindle store. You know, for those international users.

BlackBerry users in Australia and New Zealand now have something to smile about. RIM has officially launched BlackBerry App World, (its very own version of the App Store) in Australia and New Zealand. This is important for obvious reasons. The most important aspect of any powerful phone these days are the apps.

When Mercedes says they want you to get personal with your car, they mean it. Recently Mercedes-Benz USA and Hughes Telematics, Inc. launched mbrace, which brings an unprecedented level of connectivity to Mercedes-Benz drivers and allows them to customize their in-vehicle experiences.

The system allows drivers to connect with their vehicles via an iPhone or BlackBerry, and remotely lock or unlock their vehicles, locate them in crowded parking lots or city streets through a map and much more.

After countless iPod/iPhone docks that are all pretty much the same, the XML8110 Mechless Mobile Audio system manages to be unique. It combines an iPod docking station with a car stereo. On the surface it looks like a standard car stereo, but when you flip it down, the integrated universal iPod dock is exposed.

It will let you dock your iPod, charge the device, and users will be able to access all the playlists and music on the device. It also comes with a built in FM radio, EQ presets and an AUX In for connecting other devices. It will also allow users to take calls from their iPhone. With a corresponding iPhone app that’s also in the works, the integration between these two devices gets better.

Amazon is preparing to launch its Kindle application for Windows PCs. The app will let you download and read content that was previously available for the Kindle. There’s also an iPhone app already available. You don’t need a Kindle to use the Kindle app for Windows, but you will need to create an account.

The thinking is that Windows 7′s new touch features might make it a good reading platform, plus it gets the content into more hands. Don’t worry Mac users, yours is coming soon. Maybe on a Mac Tablet.

If you are a music fan that uses an iPhone for your mobile phone and music device you really need to get yourself a decent set of headphones. The problem is that most of the good sets of headphones on the market lack a mic for making voice calls. Shure has announced a new headset specifically for the iPhone and iPod that has a mic and great sound.

The headset is called the SE115m+ and it combines a noise-reducing headset with a mic and remote control for music. On the right earpiece cable the mic and three button remote is found. The remote allows full control over all music player functions.

Yamaha has another iPod dock up their sleeves with the launch of the PDX-60 iPod Dock, which connects to your iPod or iPhone via Yamaha’s yAired wireless technology, using a small wireless transmitter attached to your iPhone or iPod.

It also comes with a cradle for your iPhone or iPod that will charge your device, and a small card type remote. It’s compatible with all models of the iPhone as well as the iPod Touch, iPod Classic and iPod Nano.

Verizon has launched a smack-talking offensive against the iPhone, with a new campaign called DroidDoes.com for their upcoming Motorola Droid Android smartphone. The handset, previously known by its codenames of Tao and Sholes, is being promoted as offering everything the iPhone can’t: an open development platform, the ability to run background processes, a flexible open App Store and replaceable batteries, etc. They really do some trash talking. Verizon has even set up a countdown timer showing that the Motorola Droid will arrive on October 30th 2009.

The teaser site starts off with some statements, all using the familiar i-prefix and in an Apple-style font. Stuff like “iDon’t run simultaneous apps”. Then a countdown page, with specs of the upcoming Motorola smartphone.

Here’s a great accessory for bicyclists and motorcycle riders. It’s basically a wrist mount for your iPhone, so that you don’t have to stop every time you get a call or a message. Just receive your calls, check GPS updates on the route you’re taking and even listen to some tunes and control playback without having to pull over.

Plus it’s just plain cool to have an iPhone mounted to your wrist. Makes you feel important. The whole kit costs about $140 and will come in quite handy without your device being in hand.

It’s been a long and wild ride with the Apple tablet rumors and it isn’t over yet. iLounge has itself a reliable source that has revealed more information on the upcoming Apple Tablet.

According to the source Apple is all set to reveal the touch-screen tablet on or before January 19, 2010. Some other tidbits are that Apple has created at least three prototypes. Version 1 has a 7” screen, which was too small. The latest version has a 10.7” screen. It runs iPhone OS, and it looks like an iPhone 3G, complete with a curved back.

China Unicom and Apple signed a deal a month or so back, that resulted in the iPhone 3G getting ready to head over to China with the 700 million mobile subscribers in the country. What we didn’t know is when the phone was coming and how much it would cost.

China Unicom announced today that it would be selling the iPhone at a standalone price of 5,000 yuan or about $732.50. Most people will opt to choose a subsidized package that will bring the cost of the phone down significantly.
