Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on November 16th, 2008

Noel Cases dress up your iPhone for the holidaysMaybe you want to dress your iPhone like celebrities dress their tiny dogs, so you can look all snazzy at the Christmas office party. Or maybe you have been looking for an excuse to hang your iPhone on the tree. Well my friends, for $30 you can dress your iPhone like a Christmas hooker with these cases from More.

At last your iPhone can look like a 3G street walker and hang out with all of your treasured ornaments. It’s almost like your iPhone was chewing gum loudly and smoking a cigarette, while flipping some dude the bird and simultaneously adjusting a wedgie inside it’s shiny pants. The mirrored screen protector and form-fitting plastic casing should protect it adequately from falls when your cat shakes the tree.

Google states Android has a remote kill switch

Posted in Android by Darrin Olson on October 16th, 2008

Google Android mobile phoneAccording to some recently discovered fine print in the Android Market terms of service, it appears Apple is not the only one implementing a remote kill switch for applications on their phone. In this case however Google has openly stated that they may “discover a product that violates the developer distribution agreement”, and in such cases they reserve the right to “…remotely remove those applications from your device at its sole discretion”.

This all comes after somewhat of an uproar when a developer happened upon a feature that allows Apple to remotely remove applications from the iPhone. This type of remote kill feature is meant to help with security and privacy in the event that some malicious application finds its way onto your mobile device, but many find it a little intrusive since it certainly does not give you free reign to run whatever applications you would like on your Google phone with Android.

iWood case: How Ewoks protect iPhones

iWood case: How Ewoks protect iPhones
There are tons of ways to protect your iPhone. But hippies and Ewoks are going to want something different. That something is wood. Why not go all natural with your iPhone 3G? Miniot’s form-fitting iWood cases are all natural hardwoods like oak, cherry, mahogany, walnut and something called padouk.

One downside to adding natural beauty to your iPhone is the price tag. At $125 each, they’ll cost almost as much as the iPhone 3G itself. If the price is a bit steep for ya, you can always try your hand at whittling your own, but I shudder to think what the end product will look like.

Zagg invisibleSHIELD for iPhone 3G

Posted in iPhone by Shane McGlaun on June 26th, 2008

Zagg invisibleSHIELD for iPhone 3GBack when the original iPhone launched I was upset that a few short weeks after I got my phone it had scratches all over it. To keep this from getting any worse I got my hands on a product from Zagg called invisibleSHIELD. The stuff is made from a super strong and invisible film the military uses to protect the blades of helicopters from scratches and nicks.

Zagg cuts the stuff to the exact fit for the iPhone and has for the last three weeks been offering pre-order kits that protect the screen and body of the iPhone 3G. Zagg says that so far it has had 50,000 orders for the iPhone 3G kit.

Zune logos spotted on an iPhone caseA few days ago, we told you about some new iPhone cases on the way from Belkin. Well, regarding one of those cases, the guys over at Crave noticed something interesting. Something almost conspiratorial.

The case in question is Belkin’s new “Micro Grip” for the 3G iPhone. It’s basically a bunch of interconnected Zune logos. Conspiracy aside, I’m not sure this is the case to go with, since it’s more or less a rubber web and won’t offer complete protection. Plus, it’s got me paranoid now and I’m not sure where my allegiance should be. Apple or Microsoft. Or is this saying that it’s alright to be both? I’m confused. And probably being watched.
