Phoneballs iPhone case

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on June 8th, 2010

Dropped calls? This iPhone case has dropped balls. Normally a case will protect your phone, but I’m not so sure this one will. After all, haven’t countless videos shown us that balls are like magnets when it comes to being kicked and punched in them?

Seems like it would draw some sort of vicious ball attack. They come in blue and peach and will cost you $15. Not sure why you would want that end near your mouth while using your phone, but at least 10% of all proceeds go to testicular cancer research.

iPhone case is perfect for Dirty Harry fans

When I was a kid, you could play with toy guns anywhere you wanted that looked just like the real things. My friends and I spent many a day playing cops and robbers around the neighborhood without even thinking the toy guns were dangerous. Today toy guns can get you shot by police with a real gun if you aren’t careful.

A designer at Thingiverse going by juniortran has offered up the files and plans needed to build yourself a iPhone case that looks like a Ruger LCR Revolver. To make your own you will need access to a 3D printer though, which most of us don’t have lying around the house.

Grace Digital Audio offers ECO Extreme MP3 speaker

Posted in Accessories by Shane McGlaun on May 26th, 2010

I don’t like taking my gadgets near water or to places where dust is an issue. I don’t want to kill my gear with an accidental splash or getting dust into the works. Grace Digital Audio has a new speaker for the iPhone, iPod and any other device with a 3.5mm headphone port that will protect your device while you listen.

The new speaker is called the Eco Extreme and it has a 3-inch full range driver in the front and attaches to a bag with a 2-inch carabiner. The speaker is rubberized to protect it from drops and is water resistant to IPX7 standards.

I used the WildCharge system for my iPhone 3GS for a long time. I liked that I didn’t have to plug the iPhone in each time, but having to remove the case for synchronizing the phone got on my nerves.

A new wireless charging system from Powermat has debuts that is specifically designed for the iPhone 3G/3GS. The handset includes a receiver case for the iPhone 3G/3GS, the power mat, and an AC adapter.

Looks like the first next-gen iPhone cases are starting to surface. Hardmac received the image above from one of its contacts in China, the model name reveals the manufacturer to be Shenzhen Soonleader Electronic Co.

It has all the right curves, including a larger opening for a flash and the spaces for the new side buttons can be seen. This might just be the manufacturer trying to get a jump start, or it could be something more official.

iAngle holds earbuds, your iPhone

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on May 19th, 2010

This product’s website is not helpful at all. Good thing they have that image above, which shows you all you need to know about this device. It’s called the iAngle. Essentially it’s an earbud case and a mini iPhone stand in one.

It’s a pretty neat design even if it isn’t a world shattering gadget. It’s only $10 and probably works with other gadgets that are about the iPhone’s size.

Ten1 debuts Tango case with stylus

Posted in Apple by Shane McGlaun on May 18th, 2010

I have used the Tango stylus for the iPhone before and the thing works very well for hitting small buttons and links with more accuracy. The problem was that there was no place to put the stylus in most cases making it hard to take along on the road.

Ten1 has announced a new case called the Tango Leather case and stylus. The device has full-grain leather on the outside and a soft microsuede interior. The interior can be had in light blue or green colors.

Visa has plans for wireless payments via iPhone cases

Posted in iPhone by Conner Flynn on May 6th, 2010

Visa is paving the way for iPhone owners to be able to make payments with their handset at special terminals. This wireless credit card payment system is the first of its kind in the world. It will involve a customized payment software called Visa payWave, which will come pre-installed on a memory card.

The iPhone itself lacks an external memory slot, so it will require you to buy a new iPhone case that is Apple-certified. This makes everyone richer, including the case manufacturer. Everyone except for you. Your money will be leaving with the case and with every transaction.
