Boost Case for iPhone 4

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on December 6th, 2010

No matter how good the battery is on a device, we need more juice. The iPhone 4, like everything else, always seems to run down at the worst times. And the iPhone 4 also needs a case, so you might as well take care of both problems with one device.

The Boost Case will fit the bill since it has a battery inside. It has a black exterior with blue LEDs to show how much battery life is left in the device. The battery inside has 1700mAh of power and the case is just 0.69″ thick. The case can be charged alone or you can charge the case battery and the iPhone 4 battery at the same time, which is nice.

Posted in iPhone by Conner Flynn on December 6th, 2010

The white iPhone 4 has been delayed several times and was even removed from the online Apple Store. There was never any official confirmation from Apple that the device was canceled, but that was the rumor. And now the latest in the white iPhone 4 saga is that some new signage has been going up in Apple stores which features a footnote that the white iPhone will be available in spring 2011.

Hopefully that is really the case. It’s in line with what Apple previously mentioned. Maybe we can get a happy ending for all of you white iPhone fans yet.

Ever want to turn your iPod Touch into a Pseudo iPhone? Sprint has the answer. And it’s expensive. The ZTE Peel is an iPod touch case with a built-in 3G hotspot. It costs $80, but only supports two devices at a time, and 1GB of data costs $30 per month.

White iPhone 4 with antenna design update?

Posted in iPhone by Conner Flynn on October 18th, 2010

Remember that white colored iPhone 4 that showed up in NY? Well, it could have been an invisible shield casing since the image above shows a black line which could be the black antenna bar that has been cut into the metal, moved or included in the middle right above the micro SIM slot to help with the poor reception issues.

This photo could be the new location for the antenna break-out so that the “death grip” problems will go away.

Posted in iPhone by Conner Flynn on October 13th, 2010

Some stats have been released that indicate that the the iPhone 4 is more prone to cracks than its predecessor, the 3GS. On one hand this is expected since the iPhone 4 has double the glass panes. There are simply more places for it to crack.

According to SquareTrade, 3.9 percent of all iPhone 4 owners reported a cracked screen within the first four months. In contrast the iPhone 3GS only reached 2.1 percent. In fact, 82 percent of all iPhone 4 accidents involve shattering glass panes, compared to 76 percent on a previous iPhone.

Magic Case turns your iPod Touch into an iPhone

Posted in iPod Touch by Conner Flynn on October 11th, 2010

This “magic” case will add phone and texting capabilities to the iPod Touch. At least that’s what it claims to do. We can’t say that we believe in magic around here, but we’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. For $129.99, this case will transform any jailbroken 1st gen, 2nd gen, or 3rd gen iPod Touch into a phone that can make voice calls and send text messages.

Sounds pretty amazing. And you wouldn’t be locked to a carrier if you got one of these. But the product page doesn’t mention any 3G support. Who will buy one of these and let us know if it works?

PADACS Toccata iPad Keyboard Case

Posted in iPad accessories by Conner Flynn on October 4th, 2010

We’ve seen a number of iPad cases with integral keyboards, which are handy for easier typing rather than using the iPad’s on screen keyboard. But most have low quality keyboards that you won’t want to use for long typing sessions.

PADACS Toccata Keyboard case is perfect for the heavy duty iPad user, since it sports a built in bluetooth keyboard with plastic keys, similar to more traditional keyboards. The Bluetooth 2.0 keyboard is compatible with a wide range of devices including the iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GH (with iOS4) and Bluetooth enabled devices running Windows, Mac or Linux.
