Did Gizmodo pay $10,000 for “lost” iPhone 4G

Posted in News by Conner Flynn on April 19th, 2010

The Internet is on fire today with Gizmodo’s hands on preview of what appears to be Apple’s next-gen iPhone. In case you missed the story, someone found an iPhone in a bar in Redwood City. The device appeared to be an iPhone 3GS, but when the cover was removed, it was clear that this was no ordinary iPhone. It appeared to be Apple’s next-gen iPhone. And it looks like that is exactly what it is.

The guy who found the iPhone sent pictures of it to Engadget. Later Gizmodo actually obtained the iPhone in question, which has given Gizmodo over 2.5 million page views on that story alone. Then came word that Gizmodo had paid 10 grand for the iPhone prototype. Did they? We don’t know. Were they and Engadget in a bidding war? We don’t know.

New iPhone to have backside touch, AMOLED?

Posted in iPhone by Conner Flynn on March 31st, 2010

iPhone rumors are flying fast and furious this week. To add some fuel to the fire, here’s some speculation from UBS analyst Maynard Um. He claims that the new iPhones may have a touch sensitive back, which is something that people have speculated about for some time. Some other possible features include a 5-megapixel camera, 64GB of storage, AMOLED display and longer battery life.

All of those would be nice, but we will see what happens. Apple could turn the back of the iPhone into a touch-sensitive surface, similar to the Magic Mouse. It would make the iPhone even more versatile. But we just don’t know.

The rumors surrounding Apple’s new iPhone just won’t stop. The latest rumor suggests that Apple might have something in the works regarding the iPhone’s casing. It might be a touch-sensitive case, similar to the case that the Apple Magic Mouse has.

If true, this could change the device big time. It won’t be so great for those third-party iPhone protector casings, which would block the touch function.

Posted in Review by Shane McGlaun on June 19th, 2009

blueants1-sb1I am not a big fan of Bluetooth headsets. I don’t really care for the way they look in your ear and I don’t like how they feel. Recently I bought a car with a convertible top and a manual transmission and I decided it was time for a hands free device. It’s nearly impossible to drive a 5-speed in traffic and talk on the phone without a hands free device. Today I am going to look at the BlueAnt S1 Sun visor Bluetooth car kit. Read on for all the details on the BlueAnt S1.

iPhone 4G concept puts a Macbook in a phoneSome concepts are so pie in the sky out there all you can do is shake your head, while others are downright realistic. We’ll leave it up to you to figure out which category this one falls into. I think we can all agree that we’d love to see this one happen asap.

Some specs include: Titanium and Glass, OLED screen, 3G, GPS, Front camera for iChat, Removable battery, 3.2 Megapixel camera, Video, 32 GB. As long as we’re talking fantasy here, why not a projector or at least a slide out extender that enlarges the screen.
