Surc case converts your iPhone into a universal learning remote

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on December 15th, 2010

Mashed Pixel has embedded an Infrared emitter into a case. So when you wrap the Surc around your iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4, and download the (free) accompanying app, you can start programming. Then you can set up your home entertainment setup without any external accessories.

The only downside is that the iPad is not supported, and when you upgrade to the next iPhone, your IR case becomes obsolete. If you don’t mind that, you can get your pre-order in now for $69.95. Initial shipments are expected in Q1 2011.

PADACS Toccata iPad Keyboard Case

Posted in iPad accessories by Conner Flynn on October 4th, 2010

We’ve seen a number of iPad cases with integral keyboards, which are handy for easier typing rather than using the iPad’s on screen keyboard. But most have low quality keyboards that you won’t want to use for long typing sessions.

PADACS Toccata Keyboard case is perfect for the heavy duty iPad user, since it sports a built in bluetooth keyboard with plastic keys, similar to more traditional keyboards. The Bluetooth 2.0 keyboard is compatible with a wide range of devices including the iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GH (with iOS4) and Bluetooth enabled devices running Windows, Mac or Linux.

Verizon Wireless launches phone trade-in program

Posted in Verizon by Shane McGlaun on September 30th, 2010

I am not a big fan of AT&T most days, my iPhone drops calls and I have had nightmares trying to get a new iPhone 4 so far. If you are tired of AT&T or another carrier and want to move to Verizon the company has a new trade-in program that you may be interested in.

The program will let you trade in any mobile phone that operates on any carrier. The phones will be accepted whether they work or not and the price given depends on the condition and what they are. My cracked screen iPhone 3GS is worth a crappy $12 and even if the screen was whole, the price is only about $20.

Pong anti-radiation cellphone case

Posted in Mobile Accessories by Conner Flynn on February 10th, 2010

From the fine folks at Pong Research(They haven’t done much since testing Pong consoles in the late seventies apparently) come these anti-radiation cases for the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and Blackberry Curve… Despite the fact that radiation from cellphones has not yet been proven to harm people.

The Pong anti-radiation cases are mostly made of silicone, with a “Pong gold PCB module” embedded in the case. Apparently the module has been proven to reduce the radiation from an iPhone into a user’s head to “a third of what it would be without the case.”

MyTouch 3G clone runs Windows Mobile 6.5We’ve seen plenty of knock-off cell phones, whether they be iPhone ripoffs to Nokia clones Blackberry doppelgangers.
