The anger of birds knows no bounds as the game has now arrived on the PS3 and PSP. The Angry Birds game will be released as a PlayStation mini title, so it can be played on your PlayStation 3 console or a PlayStation Portable.

Rovio CEO Peter Vesterbacka says that mobile titles hitting consoles will become more common. “The smartphone gaming platform is actually turning out to be the biggest and most played out there,” he said. “So it’s starting to beat the traditional games on consoles and PCs.”

There’s an app for everything, or so it seems. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Apple has a high chance of passing the 500,000 app milestone for the App Store in 2011, based on current data. They have already unofficially passed 325,000 active titles as of December 26, with the App Store seeing about 25,421 apps submitted per month.

That means that if every app were approved, Apple could exceed the half-million point in just seven months or so. Of course what with app rejections, titles voluntarily pulled from the store etc, it might take a bit longer. Whenever it actually hits, it is quite a milestone.

According to the Korea Times, LG is looking to unveil some cool stuff at next year’s Consumer Electronics Show. That’s not unusual in itself, but we’re talking about their dual-core Android phone, the Optimus 2X, mobile 3D TVs, and drumroll please…their very first Android tablet.

The Optimus Pad will feature an 8.9″ touchscreen display and run on Android 3.0 aka Honeycomb. This tablet will fit squarely between the iPad’s 10″ display and the Galaxy Tab’s 7″ display.

iLive has given us a sneak peek at their new line of iPhone and iPad docks that they are launching at CES 2011 next week and they look pretty decent. Maybe even sexy. Sales of Apple’s iPad device will certainly grow in 2011 according to a report from DigiTimes. So it will need more screens. LG Display could receive orders for 35 million iPad panels from Apple in 2011, with Samsung and Chimei Innolux (CMI), who are scheduled to join Apple’s iPad supply chain in the first quarter of 2011, each possibly receiving orders for as many as 15 million units.

Apple’s 9.7 inch screen is making it difficult for competitors to match and the iPad’s screen size will likely lower component pricing in a way that only benefits Apple. This forces competitors to design and build 5 and 7 inch screens that don’t benefit from the scale of Apple’s high volume sales.

Looks like there is a problem with the battery life of Research In Motion’s tablet PC, the PlayBook. After making a splash with it’s introduction, the device has somewhat yielded to the competition. One issue is that the device has trouble keeping up with the 10-hour battery life of the iPad or even with the 6-hour battery life of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab.

Word is that some re-engineering can be expected to get the device in a state where it is ready for release. I hope they work the issues out. It would be a shame if this one was gimped by battery life of all things.

Gresso, makers of ultra-exclusive and expensive versions of popular consumer electronics, has now unveiled its latest product. Apple’s iPad, with 200-year-old African Blackwood as its case and an 18K gold Apple logo. Sadly, we don’t have any other details about the Gresso iPad, like what model has been selected.

We do know that it will be expensive. So expensive that they refuse to talk about it. Price will likely be revealed when the exclusive iPad goes on sale on New Year’s Eve. I’m pretty sure I can’t afford it.

Boss Magic sounds like a finishing move that will help you beat the boss in a video game, but as it turns out, they are the makers of this $139.99 7″ Android Tablet. It must be magic, since it looks a lot like the iPad. The Boss Magic Album 7″ Android Tablet 8292 features WiFi, 2GB of memory, an SD slot, mini USB connection, and a 7″ capacitive touchscreen.

Sadly it also features just a 2 to 3 hour battery life. No info on what processor is inside or what version of Android it’s running.

Lawmakers on Capitol Hill will soon be permitted to use iPads, iPhones and Blackberry devices on the House floor according to a recent report. Current rules ban the use of these devices, though incoming House speaker John A. Boehmer, the Republican Member for Ohio, is working on plans to relax these measures.

Members would still be banned from using the devices for matters that are unrelated to House matters, so they won’t be allowed to shop on Ebay or play games, but permitting the use of technology should help them be greener and help members quickly refer to legislation and receive important communiqués. So it could make things more efficient.

We recently saw some leaked pics of new iPad cases for the next-generation Apple iPad, and interestingly they had a large opening at the bottom of the case. Some speculated that it was for larger speakers or a built-in SD card slot.

Now another iPad case has surfaced that shows the rear with a metal mesh for an iPad speaker. This comes after recent reports hinted that the slot is for a speaker instead of an SD card slot.
