Star Trek Bathrobes

Posted in Apparel by Reuben Drake on February 23rd, 2011

I’m not one for robes, but if I did wear them, I would definitely own this. These terrycloth robes were never seen on the show, but they should have been. They look geek-a-licious. These robes are available in both Command Yellow and Science officer Blue.

They even and have the appropriate rank and insignias. They’re available from ThinkGeek for $49.99. They look very comfortable and very geeky. Just don’t wear these when you go out. Please. For your own sake.

Insignia Dual Alarm Clock Radio with Photo Display

Posted in Clocks by Conner Flynn on December 22nd, 2009

Everybody hates alarm clocks. So most of us wouldn’t pay $49.99 for an alarm clock. But what if it had the ability to display pictures, a media card reader and 128MB of internal memory? That might be worth the money.

The Insignia Dual Alarm Clock Radio does just that while still keeping up with its alarm clock duties. It will display digital pictures on its 3.5-inch display. The only thing missing is an audio-in jack to turn it into a speaker. That would have really sold me.

New Trek movie loaded on 4GB Star Trek Flash DriveStar Trek merchandising is only surpassed by Star Wars merchandising. Well, here’s the latest Merchandising Trek. The new film is being released on individually numbered 4GB Starfleet insignia USB drives. Yes, I too just heard ten million geeks sigh.

The drive is loaded with DRM, but you can run it on 5 registered devices and burn it to DVD, so that’s not too bad. It will cost you $29. Not sure what that amounts to in Starfleet credits, but it seems like an okay deal.

Best Buy launches first ever portable HD Radio

bbporthdradio-sbI have a Best Buy insignia brand home stereo that has an HD tuner built-in. You can tell a difference in the sound quality between FM and HD channels. The HD station is CD quality and offers clearer music. The big downside to HD Radio is that there aren’t as many stations in my area.

Best Buy has announced the first portable HD Radio player called the Insignia HD Radio Portable Player. The device is powered by an internal rechargeable lithium ion battery and has ten presets to store your favorite stations. The device also sports a 1.5-inch LCD screen for viewing channel information.

Diesel Multi Display watch looks tough
This new watch from the Diesel Signature collection has a huge dial and features a chronograph as well as four miniature movements. It’s actually pretty nice looking and appears to be rugged at the same time, sporting a black genuine leather strap and stainless steel case, with stainless steel plates and Diesel screws.

The gunmetal sunray dials have a black logo, texture and applied silver indexes as well as a Mohican head insignia. The case size is 45mm wide x 58mm length x 15mm in height. It will cost you a whooping $595 which might make your heart jump a tad, but hey it’s water Resistant up to 3 ATM. Looks like Diesel is not just expensive at the pumps, but for your wrist as well.

best-buy-converter.jpgBest Buy is getting all set to unleash its digital converter boxes on the shopping masses as America counts down towards the government mandated DTV transition occurring in 2009. It will have in stores on Feb. 17 the new Insignia Digital-to-Analog Converter for Analog TVs – also known as the NS-DXA1.

The NS-DXA1 is pricing at around $60 at Best Buy, but coupons being made available from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) knock $40 off of that. These boxes change “over-the-air broadcast signals to a readable analog format for TVs that rely solely on over-the-air broadcasts for content as opposed to receiving programming through a cable or satellite subscription.” They measure 8.5- x 6-inches and are eco-friendly.
