iPod Touch Nano with removable game controller

Posted in Concepts by Conner Flynn on November 18th, 2008

iPod Touch Nano with removable game controllerThis is what an iPod Touch Nano might look like should Apple release one. It’s designed by Isamu Sanada and the iPod Touch Nano features a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, 3.5mm headphone jack, dual dock connectors, and would come in a variety of colorful cases. Probably the coolest thing about the design is the removable game controller for when the accelerometer and touchscreen aren’t enough. Maybe it’s just me, but this is probably the one feature that the iPod Touch could use in the real world. Pretty sweet design.

SpongeBob iPod Dock: The stuff of Nickelodeon nightmares

SpongeBob iPod Dock: The stuff of Nickelodeon nightmaresI’ve been thinking on it for awhile and I just can’t think of anything more disturbing then this Spongebob Squarepants iPod dock. Mostly the problem is that you remove his large eyeballs and watch them roll around on the table in time with whatever music you play. It’s made more disturbing by the fact that he doesn’t even have a face, just the fleshy part around the eyes. That’s all you get. Don’t buy your kids this monstrosity, unless you like your kid waking up from mutant cartoon nightmares every night, complete with music. Video below.

iPod Nano TV/VHS comboWant to turn your iPod into a TV? How about one of those old TV/VCR combos? I can think of a better choice of TV, but at least this will increase your screen size and give you more volume. This mini TV-set magnifies your iPod’s screen up to 2.8 inches. The iPod Nano 3G TV will be available soon for the retail price of about $23. Your iPod slips into the back as shown. It probably would have been cooler if it slid in the VHS slot.

Apple denies any new products ’till next year

Posted in Apple by Darrin Olson on November 3rd, 2008

Apple says no new products until next yearDespite Apple’s Mac Mini being due for an overhaul, Apple has invalidated any recent rumors that they may be launching new products this year. Company spokesman Bill Evans told Macworld that Apple’s line up “…is set” for the holidays.

This is an uncommon move for Apple to stifle the rumor mill but it seems that any hopes of seeing a new iMac or Mac Mini will have to be put aside until next year. Apple has however put out some new iPods lately, as well as some new MacBooks so maybe that is enough for the year? After all, they’ll of course need something big for MacWorld in January.

Immersion Scarf: When you absolutely, positively need to look like an idiot

Posted in Apparel by Conner Flynn on November 2nd, 2008

Immersion Scarf: When you absolutely, positively need to look like an idiotThe Immersion scarf will instantly make you look like Snuffleupagus, wearing what amounts to a long erect snout on your face. The idea is that you will always be able to see those important text messages, even in direct bright sunlight. You could probably also play your PSP, or watch the iPod videos too.

Just understand that the humanity around you will be thoroughly creeped the hell out. Seeing one or two of these snout creatures on a park bench would freak me out and make me run home, where I would try to figure out if I was really in some tripped out David Lynch movie or not.
