We’re still waiting on confirmation of an iPhone nano, so HiPhone of China decided to get the job done in true knockoff fashion. They came out with their own version known as the HiPhone Nano. It’s a flip. Take that Apple.

The exterior features dedicated music playback controls that look just like an iPod Clickwheel, and you can even get the time on a monochrome display. Flip it open and inside there is a 2.4″ touchscreen display and a numeric keypad. How about dual-SIM support?

Coby’s MP600 Video MP3 Player takes some obvious inspiration from the iPod Nano. It features a 1.44″ LCD screen that will play back all of your MTV video files, JPG photos, read text files as well as MP3 and WMA files. You’ll also get FM radio.

The best part is that they didn’t clone the price, which is just over $20 for the 2GB version. The 4GB version will cost you $29.99. So if you’re looking for a cheap alternative for the Nano, you might want to check it out.

A world where gadgets are powered by blood? It could happen sooner then you think. It won’t be long until our gadgets are full fledged living entities soon after that. Maybe. In a not too distant future Piezoelectric nanowires may reside in our blood vessels. They would use the energy created by blood flow to power gadgets. Stuff like pacemakers, iPods, anything designers can dream up really.

It sounds pretty amazing, but the reality is that it may cause some sort of new diseases in our bodies or make us more susceptible to them. These things never work out the way you think. If it happens at all, it won’t be for a long long time hopefully.

Clearly inspired by Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and created using the first generation iPod nano, this victorian eye-Pod by Doctor Grymm will have you doing a double take. All of the functionality of the iPod remains intact, and the eye-Pod can even be worn on the wrist using a leather cuff, or placed on its custom Victrola dock, made of a brass lamp and bicycle parts.

Forget the scroll wheel, all seeing eyeballs are more user friendly. The base features a Victrola horn that acts as a speaker. To charge the eye-Pod, a USB cable concealed under the base is retracted, or you can use an AC plug.

It seems counterproductive to be buying a portable DVD player, what with Blu-Ray and all of the other options available to you, but if you are eyeing a new DVD player, check this out. The most interesting feature of the DCP951/37 from Philips is the retractable iPod dock.

Its compatible with the iPod Touch, iPod Nano and the iPod Classic. The DCP951/37 will give you only a 640×220 resolution, but on the other hand it can play almost all standard video discs and also has an SD card slot. You’ll also get MP3 support, 2 x 3.5mm stereo headphone jacks and a built-in battery that will give you almost 3 hours of playback.

Most iPod docking stations don’t support charging capability for your iPhone 3G, iPod Touch Gen 2, and iPod Nano Gen 4. It’s because of USB voltage differences. Scosche has come up with a converter named the passPORT Home Dock, that allows users to charge their iPhone 3G on these iPod docking stations.

The passPORT Home Dock makes it fully compatible with the older iPod docking stations. To clarify, this converter/adapter is not a stand-alone dock and will not add audio/video functions by itself. You can find one at Scosche.com and Amazon.com for $39.99.

If you’re on the lookout for the next iPhone, Apple is in the habit of refreshing the iPod and iPhone on a somewhat regular schedule. Therefore a new iPhone arriving in June wouldn’t be a surprise. Business 24/7 mentions a brand new iPhone in June.

As usual, take it for the rumor that it is. It could be a mistake, or a misquote, or even a conspiracy to throw us off, but it’s interesting. We’ll just have to wait and see. Meanwhile, over at Apple Insider there is mention of an upcoming iPhone with an architecture overhaul. iPhone nano anyone?

Yet another device gets bedazzled by Swarovski crystals. Elton John has launched his own iPod nano lineup. But these Nanos were harmed in the name of a ood cause. To raise money for the Elton John AIDS Foundation. The players are covered in the aforementioned crystals, and can be had in black, green, orange, pink, purple, red, silver, or yellow.

On sale from Goldgenie and Selfridges, the 8GB version will cost you £399.99 while the 16GB model will set you back £449.99. You’ll want to get one quick as each color is only offered in a limited edition of 100. They’ll even throw in “Rocket Man: The Definitive Hits CD” with every order.

Car stereos that are also iPod-friendly are nothing new. Thing is, we’re mostly talking about a dock, with your iPod sitting in front for thieves to spot. The CA-IP500 from Fusion Electronics is different. The face flips open so you can insert your iPod like you would a Cassette tape.

The device will work with the iPod Touch Gen1 & 2, the iPod Classic Gen5, 6 & 7 and the iPod Nano Gen2,3 & 4. Once in it’s slot, you control the iPod via joystick and touch wheel, just like on the iPod. You’ll also get a dot matrix OLED display, SRS Wos sound shaping, AM/FM tuner, 7-band equalizer, security code, aux-in port and of course it will charge your player while it’s inside. It will cost you $349, so while it isn’t cheap, it may help you avoid a broken window and a missing iPod.

Who doesn’t love iPod? Okay, before we get into an all-out brawl, let’s say that question was rhetorical. But whether you love or hate Apple’s ubiquitous MP3 player, you can’t deny that it’s everywhere these days. With the new 4th Gen iPod Nano, things get even more exciting. The new design allows for a larger viewing screen for movies, photos, and Coverflow, without the wideness of the previous generation. Apple also switches up their usual pricing standards with this generation, offering a 8GB model in all colors for $150, and a 16GB model at their usual price of $200.

The new Genius feature claims to find songs in your library that go together, and groups them for you, taking all the work out of creating playlists. Of course, the shuffle feature may undo all of that work. When shaken, the iPod switches to shuffle mode… so let’s hope you don’t move too much when you jog, or your exercise playlist may suddenly switch to slow jams. Luckily, this feature is one that can be disabled if you’re not interested in using it.

We’re used to shortages during the holiday season. The Wii comes to mind. And you are probably aware of Amazon’s kindle situation. The iPod may be next. Word is that Apple is having trouble keeping up with the demand for the iPod as more and more customers place purchases during this holiday season, they may run out. The information comes from a research note from Kaufman Bros. analyst Shaw Wu. The Amazon.com stock levels seem to confirm the notion as well, since it currently takes up to 5 weeks to get your 8GB second-gen iPod touch. It’ll take 3-5 weeks for the 16GB version.

It looks like the shortages may be model specific and color specific, as some are more popular. Wu concluded that Apple may very well sell 21 million iPods in the holiday quarter.

Sure, the name sounds cozy, but iMuffs are not meant to keep your ears warm, which sucks because it is cold outside. But they will let you listen to your iPod Nano, iPod Classic, iPod Photo, iPod Touch, iPod Mini and all 3rd generation iPods without a cable.

Just attach the iMuffs Bluetooth transmitter to your iPod and you’ll be un-tethered. You can control the volume and playback with the headphones themselves, keeping your device safely in your pocket. Here’s a followup to the iPod Touch Nano concept that’s wearable and even fashionable. Once again, it’s from designer Isamu Sanada. It’s an iPod Shuffle Bracelet with integrated Bluetooth connectivity, dock connector, and a rugged casing.

It even sports a built-in rechargeable battery for 16-hours of continuous playback. Hey, why not? As long as we are playing make believe. This is actually something that the ladies would love, in fashionable pastels. Who knows, one day Apple may get behind it. But we aren’t holding our breath.

This is what an iPod Touch Nano might look like should Apple release one. It’s designed by Isamu Sanada and the iPod Touch Nano features a 2.8-inch touchscreen display, 3.5mm headphone jack, dual dock connectors, and would come in a variety of colorful cases. Probably the coolest thing about the design is the removable game controller for when the accelerometer and touchscreen aren’t enough. Maybe it’s just me, but this is probably the one feature that the iPod Touch could use in the real world. Pretty sweet design.

Microsoft will announce price cuts across the board for its flash Zunes tomorrow. Good news if you are bargain shopping. hey aren’t Earth shattering deals, but every bit helps right? The 4GB model will drop to $100, the 8GB will go for $140 and 16GB for $180. The price drops make them all cheaper than the equivalent iPod nanos.
