Mad Catz Gears of War 3 audio peripherals for Xbox 360

Mad Catz, makers of all kinds of third party gaming peripherals and accessories, has just announced some new Gears of War 3 gear with some licensed GoW3 audio devices for the Microsoft Xbox 360. They intend to ship them in time for the game’s launch later this year.

They are available for pre-order now. There is the Throat Communicator, the Performance Stereo Gaming Headset and the Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound Headset for $29.99, $99.99 and $179.99. You gotta have the gear for Gears Of War.

Are you ready for the new Captain America movie? Well, you better start getting some of that merchandise. Coloud, makers of audio accessories, has just unveiled these Captain America themed headphones in honor of the movie.

They feature printed 3D rubber patches, an adjustable headband and a regular 3.5mm jack. They also offer Iron Man, Wolverine, and Punisher headphones if Captain America is not your favorite. They cost just $40 and look awesome.

We have plenty of gun accessories for the Wii or Move wands, I guess it’s only fitting that we also have a rifle-like dock for the iPhone. The appBlaster from apptoyz is designed specifically for the company’s Alien Attack iOS game.

Just slide in your iDevice and you will be able to see the invisible aliens and mow them down. When you pull the trigger, two capacitive pads touch the screen to fire. The appBlaster is available for pre-order right now for about $32) and will arrive on July 7.

Droid Bionic and HTC Merge hit Best Buy website, with accessories

Prices and release dates for the HTC Merge and Droid Bionic are still unknown, but you can at least start thinking about the accessories. That’s because Best Buy’s mobile accessories site is now listing both phones, with pictures.

There is no new info about the handsets themselves, but this must mean a release very soon. Head on over to the Best Buy site and have a look for yourself. At least you can start shopping for add-ons.

Mad Catz gets exclusive rights to Xbox 360 wireless headphones

Mad Catz, the well known manufacturers of all kinds of video game accessories has just struck a deal with Microsoft for exclusive rights to produce wireless gaming headphones for the Xbox 360.

The Mad Catz headsets will feature Dolby 5.1 technology, but other than that we have no details. We do know that we can expect these headsets in stores this holiday season. Mad Catz should do very well with this exclusive deal. Maybe next they will corner the wireless PS3 headset market.

Rock Band is fun, but those fake instruments and accessories sure do take up a lot of room. Now LevelUp has a solution for you with the Rock Band Storage Ottoman. It’s an ottoman made of wood with fake black leather for the cover. There are also Velcro loops under the lid for two guitar controllers. The drum kit stores in the bottom once it’s disassembled.

But that’s not all. There are other pockets on the inside for storing the drumsticks and the microphone. You can even add trays to hold video games and normal controllers from your game console. The black version is aptly called Back in Black and will cost you $89.99 at Costco.

We have a ton of features in today’s smartphones and sadly that means more drain on the battery. It’s just a fact of life. As we can do more, battery life is sacrificed. Well, Elecom wants to help.

They have come up with a pocket battery that was specially designed to recharge your smartphone. Inside, it holds a 1600mAh battery that will feature special tips for phones from various manufacturers including Apple, Samsung and Sony Ericsson. Hopefully this will hit the US market soon too.

Mobile Tail iPhone stand

Some people treat their iPhone better than a pet, so why shouldn’t it have a tail? The Mobile Tail is a silicone tail attached to a suction cup that can be attached to the back of the iPhone or any other mobile device. Once stuck to the mobile phone it will hold the device in an upright position so you can watch videos on it.

The tail doesn’t wag, otherwise your device would fall flat. It comes in several different colors. At least it would, but it’s just a concept. Still it is cute if you like puppies and the like.

HTC Surround and Samsung Focus available November 8th from AT&T

AT&T has just made it official that they will be offering both the HTC Surround and Samsung Focus starting on November 8th. The Surround and Focus are two of the carrier’s three Windows Phone 7 launch phones.

AT&T’s third Windows Phone 7 will be the LG Quantum, which will also launch on the same day. The carrier also said that its BlackBerry Torch smartphone will be available in red on November 7th, and that it will launch a new promotion giving a free accessory to customers who purchase two other accessories at full price.

XtremeMac launches Tango TRX dock for iPod and iPad

XtremeMac has all manner of accessories and cases for Apple gear like the iPad, iPhone, and iPod. Over the last few months, the company has been rolling out a lot of new audio docks that have some interesting features. The latest new dock from XtremeMac is the Tango TRX and the Tango TRX D.

Both of the versions have the same basic features. The both have a dock built into the main section of the device that charges while music plays. Both have Bluetooth and use 2.1 speakers inside. The speakers include a pair of tweeter, a pair of mid-range drivers, and a single downward firing subwoofer.

Apple Global Supply Manager arrested for taking $1 Million in kickbacks

Apple has had it’s share of problems lately and now an Apple supply manager has been arrested, accused of taking more than $1 million in kickbacks from suppliers of accessories for the iPhone and iPod.

Paul Shin Devine allegedly used his position at Apple to supply about half a dozen Asian suppliers with information which put them in a better position to receive Apple contracts. Devine allegedly used several foreign bank accounts and a false company called ‘CPK Engineering’ to process the payments, and he is now in the custody of US Marshalls.

Samsung WMG160 Wi-Fi streaming device

Samsung has announced a bunch of new accessories for the Galaxy S smartphone recently and here is another. The WMG160 Wi-Fi streaming device. It’s capable of enabling a Galaxy S smartphone to stream multimedia content to the HDTV in resolutions of up to 720p without wires.

It will also play nice with a wide range of other Wi-Fi equipped gadgets that support DLNA. The WMG160 will retail for around 84GBP, no idea about a price stateside if it ever comes here.

Samsung announces new accessories for the Galaxy S

Samsung has announced a lineup of accessories for its Android-powered Galaxy S smartphone. These accessories include a desktop docking station, vehicle dock, and a backup battery charging system. The desktop dock lets your movies, listen to music, and it doubles as a digital photo frame while also charging the device.

The vehicle dock allows you to mount your Galaxy S on the windshield or your dashboard to display traffic alerts or turn-by-turn instructions. Lastly, the backup charger is small enough to fit into a purse, letting you keep your device close at all times, even when it is charging.
