Maingear Pulse is world’s greenest gaming PC

Posted in Computers by Shane McGlaun on June 5th, 2009

maingearpulse-sbOne thing that most gaming PCs have in common is that they pack the highest performance parts they can get their hands on into a rig that sucks down power like a Hummer slurps fuel. With more people looking to go green, I guess it was inevitable that a green gaming rig was launched.

Maingear has announced the Pulse gaming PC, which it claims to be the world’s greenest gaming PC. The rig is based on the NVIDIA Ion platform and it is also the world’s first upgradable Ion PC. The small form factor machine can be upgraded from Ion graphics to an NVIDIA 9800 ECO video card that needs 40% less power than a typical 9800 GT requires.

100 MPG Hummer H3

100 MPG Hummer H3This article is bound to confuse you. I mean, we are used to hating on Hummers because they are mega gas hogs. They basically roll around on four wheels and destroy the Earth right? Well, yeah. But this one gets an amazing 100 MPG.

It’s a modified electric Hummer H3 that manages to outdo even a Prius. My one question is this. Is it still okay to make fun of Hummers, or does this change everything? I know you get sick just seeing the familiar SUV form, but 100 MPG!

Monster Beetle hits the road
My first question is how do you get in this thing without a step ladder? My second question is why. As to why, well, this is what happens when an aircraft engineer has a 1968 VW Beetle a lot of time.

Sure, you’ve got your Bigfoots and your Hummers, but there’s just something about seeing a VW Beetle this high off the ground that pleases us. It’s got a new 2.8 Liter engine, which should give it a nice power to weight ratio. It will turn heads so fast you’ll hear the collective cracking of neck bones.

Remote Control Hummer H3 is life sized
Dr. James Brighton put a ton of hard work into transforming a gas guzzling Hummer H3 into a remote controlled vehicle. The project took around a month to complete, and it’s said to be the largest radio controlled vehicle.

If you want one, it’s going to cost you of course. At least $70,000. That’s one expensive RC car. It might be fun to have your friend inside while you control it, speeding up around cliffs and stuff. Just don’t wreck it. It’s not like you can just pick it up and dust it off and get going again.Check out a video below.

Hummer HT1 Mobile Phone

Hummer HT1 mobile phoneYou like to be cool and hip with fashionable gadgets. Do us a favor though please – avoid the Hummer HT1 slider phone like the plague.

Why? Well, for starts, it isn’t what I say is the most pretty phone out there for $400 (especially the camo design – please!). You’re also showing off by owning this phone you drive one of the most controversial gas guzzling, money sucking vehicles on the planet. May a pack of Priuses chase you down on the freeway like a hunted animal!
