ExoPC Windows 7 Tablet gets a shipping date

If you were looking forward to getting the Windows 7-powered ExoPC tablet, you already know that the tablet was to be delayed by several months. Well, we waited and now the company has confirmed that it will be accepting its first pre-orders on September 3rd.

The first 1,200 orders will be shipped on September 30th. On October 15 the company’s first rebadged partner slate will become available in Canada. Some specs include an 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 pixel display, Intel Atom N450 processor, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, USB 2.0, Mini HDMI port, 1.3-megapixel webcam, SD/SDHC memory card reader and a Battery life up to 5-hours.

Vodafone Nokia N8 green edition

Nokia’s savior, the N8, will be available from Vodafone in this lovely shade of green as an exclusive. This new Symbian^3-powered smartphone won’t be available anywhere else. Just Vodafone in the UK.

This lovely green smartphone will be available for purchase later this year if that is your color. You’ll need to sign up for Nokia N8 updates at the Vodafone website while saving up some cash if you want to know when it will arrive. The main draw of the Nokia N8 is its camera, with a Xenon flash, 12-megapixels and the biggest sensor ever seen in a camera phone.

Mitsubishi announces Full HD 3D TVs with built-in HDD and Blu-ray Burner

The 3D TVs just keep on coming and Mitsubishi is introducing some 3D TVs that offer an integrated Blu-ray player/recorder and hard drive. Of course, they’re not cheap. They will cost you $5,900, $4,700, and $3,500 for the 55-inch, 46-inch, and 40-inch models respectively.

At least for those prices they will come bundled with a pair of 3D glasses. They should go on sale on October 21st in Japan. Specifications of all three models are identical and include a Full HD LCD panel, LED backlight, Blu-ray burner that can play 3D Blu-ray discs, 1TB hard drive, DIATONE speaker system, USB and HDMI ports and an SD memory card slot.

JVC Picsio GC-WP10 and GC-FM2 1080p pocket camcorders

JVC is no stranger to the handheld camcorder market and now it has decided to get into the pocket camcorder business. The company is introducing the Picsio GC-WP10 and GC-FM2, both of which are capable of 1,920 x 1,080/30fps clips.

They also feature built in image stabilization, an HDMI output, a 3-inch rear touchscreen, compatibility with EyeFi’s WiFi-enabled SD cards and a time-lapse recording feature. The WP10 has a waterproof enclosure, but no optical zoom. Both units have a pop-out USB plug and an SD / SDHC / SDXC card slot, while the WP10 adds an MP3 audio recorder.

Kodak Playtouch camcorder and EasyShare M590

Kodak has unveiled a good looking new Playtouch pocket camcorder that records video at 1080p. The device also sports a SDHC card slot for storage and a 3 inch capacitive touch screen that comes in handy for editing images.

Some other features include easy USB data transfer, an HDMI port and a dedicated button to share stuff over the Internet via Youtube and Facebook. Kodak also announced the EasyShare M590 that features a 2.7 inch LCD screen, image stabilization, face recognition, HD video capture, microSD card support, Share button and a 5x optical zoom.

Toshiba Tablet images leaked

Seems like every manufacturer out there is making a tablet of their own. Maybe two. Toshiba can now be listed among them as they are expected to launch a tablet very soon. We even have some pictures of the upcoming tablet which have now surfaced.

It looks pretty much like you would expect. A tablet PC featuring a 10-inch display with a black bezel around it. The device will be powered by Google’s Android. Some specs include: An NVIDIA Tegra 2 chip, HDMI port, Docking station, Memory card reader, Audio jack, and both Full and mini USB ports.

We’ve seen plenty of painted and modded Xbox 360s in our day, even an Xbox 360 laptop, but until now we’ve never seen what Tony Stark’s Xbox 360 looks like.

And thanks to Zachariah Perry Cruse, we now know. It looks just like his armor. The design student spent his summer vacation creating his very own Iron Man Xbox 360. It’s not the slim 360 console, but it has a 120GB hard drive and an HDMI socket. Why not place a bid?

Amex Digital announces world’s smallest 1080p Media Player

Amex Digital’s latest is the smallest media player to actually handle 1080p. The device measures just 175- x 128- x 15mm and weighs just 250 grams. The player can accept a range of file formats from a connected USB storage device or an SD card.

It will also output 1080p over HDMI, and there’s a composite video / audio output and mini-USB port in the back. The MP-501 is equipped with an ARM Cortex-A8 processor and will play nice with nearly every file. The best news is that it is just $49.

MSI FX600-002US notebook gets official

MSI has a bunch of notebooks that it sells all around the world. I have used several machines from MSI and they are typically very powerful and have nice price tags. MSI has announced a new notebook that fits right in with its other offerings called the FX600.

The new FX600 is a 15.6-inch LED backlit notebook that features an NVIDIA GeForce GT 325M GPU with 1GB of DDR3 RAM. The machine uses an Intel Core i5-450m CPU and has 4GB of system memory. The machine also has a 500GB HDD.

Nokia N8 release date is September 2010 for $550, Pre-orders have begun

Will Nokia’s latest Nokia N8 smartphone save the company? We shall see. Those of us living in the US will be able to place a pre-order for the N8 for $550 and it is expected to ship at the end of September 2010.

So it will likely hit the scene after the Nokia World Event ends on September 15th. The N8 is the first 12-megapixel smartphone from Nokia, offering HD video recording, HDMI output and 16GB of internal memory. It’s no iPhone. That’s for sure.

Onkyo whips out RC260 and RC270 home theater receivers

Home theater fans have a new reason to be excited today as Onkyo adds a pair of new AV receivers to its already impressive line. The two new receivers are said to be mid-range offerings for the Onkyo line, which means they are still rather expensive by some standards.

The new parts include the RC270 and the RC260 receivers. Both of the receivers support 3D with HDMI 1.4a and 7.2 -channel surround sound. Supported codecs include Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. The receivers also have Audyssey DSX and Dolby Pro Logic IIz.

Acer is ready to launch a new monitor at IFA Berlin 2010. The company has announced plans to present its S222HQL Super-Slim LCD monitor. The S222HQL sports a sexy and slim design and features a LED-back lite for power-saving, which is good for the Earth and your wallet.

The upcoming Acer S222HQL Super-Slim LED-backlit Monitor is also equipped with a 21.5-inch display that delivers 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, a 12,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, a response time of 2ms, and 250 cd/m2 of brightness.

Cool Armor X10gx rugged tablet PC is tough enough for soldiers

I never really thought I would like a table computer until I used my iPad. I really like the tablet form factor, but that iPad is too fragile for working stiffs who are out in the field all day. A new tablet machine that meets military specs for ruggedness has been unveiled by Armor.

The machine is called the X10gx and it has a 10.4-inch transreflective LCD with a resolution of 1024 x 768 that can be read in direct sunlight. That screen accepts both pen based and touch input to boot. Storage is to a 64GB SSD with 80GB or 160GB options.

Samsung BD-C8000 Portable 3D Blu-ray Player

Samsung has just introduced a new line of Blu-ray players that include their first portable 3D model, the BD-C8000, which will do 3D movies when attached through an HDMI output. The 10.3-inch display is only good for movies in 2D, though. As for battery life, you’ll get up to three hours on a full charge. You also get 1GB of internal memory, and Wi-Fi for BD-Live. The BD-C8000 is shipping now for $500.

Some other new Blu-ray players include the BD-C7900, C6800, and the C5900. The C7900 is the most promising, with dual HDMI outputs and other Internet features like Blockbuster, Netflix and Pandora. The C6800 has just one HDMI output, while the C5900 is an entry-level player.

DreamBook ePad L11 HD

Another day, another entry into the tablet market. Today, Pioneer Computers Australia is introducing its DreamBook ePad L11 HD. It’s an 11.6-inch tablet device, with okay specs.

No Android here. This one is powered by Windows 7. The DreamBook ePad L11 HD will be available in Australia in September, with pricing starting at $640. No word on whether it will hit US shores anytime soon. Specs are below.
