Other games are included in the bundle too like Sega Super Star Tennis, and five arcade games including Luxor 2 and Pac-Man.

Holocube 3D Projection Box won’t let you talk to Darth VaderNow you can enjoy 3D imaging right on your desk with this interesting holographic display ‘Holocube 3D Projection Box’. It sports an integrated HDD that stores video and uses it to create 3D Holograms at a resolution of 1080i. It won’t produce a Princess in trouble, telling you that you are her only hope. Nor will it let you talk to your Sith lord or Sith apprentice in real time.

But it is pretty awesome. It’s available in 10-inch, 15-inch, or 17-inch models, with a 40GB hard drive. The Holocube can store up to 18-hours of compressed video at 4Mb/s on its 40GB hard drive, which can then be converted into a 3D hologram. You also get an optional floor stand for easy transportation.

A hard drive hacked into a turntableIf you’re a DJ or a wannabe DJ, you’ll want a turntable that sets you apart from the rest. You could spend some real money to get yourself a decent set-up or you can make your own if you have an old hard drive laying around. That’s what a group of students at universities in the UK, Austria, and New Zealand did.

They all worked together to come up with a digital DJ interface, and the HDD-turntable you see above sits at the center. The students fell in love with the weight of the disk and the quality of its bearings. All you need are “a few op amps, resistors and a programmable microcontroller of some kind” and you can be mixing like they do. Hit the link for instructions.

New Fujitsu HDD can erase itself in under 1 SecondNow here’s a claim that you don’t hear everyday. Fujitsu’s new 500 GB, 5400 RPM Hard Drive has a 2.5-inch spinner that can erase the whole of its bad self in under 1 second. It took you longer then that just to read this.

The MJA2 CH uses 256-bit advanced encryption that encodes data on the fly and it’s the first 500 GB HDD with the technology. It also gets points for being a bit more eco-friendly as the MJA2 CH drive only uses 1.4 watts of power while writing data and is considered to have eco-friendly components. The MJA2 CH HDD will surface early next year, at which point it will have permanent amnesia as it gathers data and erases itself to your heart’s content.

Notebooks still can’t match the storage capacity available in many desktop computers, but the gap is closing. Hitachi announced its latest notebook HDD today that offers lots of storage and green features built-in.

The hard drive is called the Travelstar 5K500.B and has 500GB of storage space wile consuming only 1.4W during read/write operations. The drives are also halogen free making them more environmentally friendly.

At around 4 pounds, this one has a 12.1-inch WXGA display, described as “glare-type”, and it gets a boost in the performance as well. You can choose from four different Core 2 Duo processors, though it sports an integrated Intel GMA X4500HD graphics chipset. You’ll get up to 4GB of RAM, a max 320GB hard drive, and a DVD burner, built-in webcam, memory card reader. There are also HDMI and VGA outputs, three USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, eSATA port, 8-in-1 media card reader, and the Trusted Platform Module 1.2 in select models. No word on price yet.
