IK Multimedia has begun shipping their iKlip iPad microphone stand. It’s a pretty basic accessory. It works by holding everything in place, keeping your hands free to play your instrument and concentrate. The price seems a bit high for something so basic, but I guess it’s worth it.

It will cost you $39.99. Have a good concert, practice or whatever, while keeping your hands firmly on your instrument.

Adidas unveils Han Solo SL-72 shoes

Posted in clothing by Shane McGlaun on July 8th, 2010

When it comes to clothing, I rarely choose gear that has characters on it. You won’t catch me rocking a t-shirt with Darth Vader for instance. I might rock these shoes with Han Solo bling though.

Adidas has unveiled a new pair of shoes for its Star Wars collection that is called the Han Solo SL-72. It appears that the tongue of the shoe has a shot of Solo encased in carbonite.

The pack is now complete and ready for download, costing just $13. Yoda, C3PO and Han Solo packs should be coming in a few months. Why you would want C-3PO I have no idea. That droid is annoying.

Hands On: Fretlight Guitar makes it easy to learn guitar

Posted in Review by Conner Flynn on April 16th, 2010

The folks who make the Fretlight guitar learning system wanted us to check it out and see for ourselves how easy it is to learn guitar with their system. The basic idea is that the frets of the guitar light up. That, along with an interactive learning system which includes videos and tutorials are supposed to make it easy.

Since my son has been learning how to play guitar by more or less teaching himself, I figured he was the perfect candidate. So they sent us the whole kit and my son checked it out. How good is it at teaching you to play the guitar? His review follows:

Frozen Han Solo Popsicle shirt

Posted in Apparel by Conner Flynn on March 22nd, 2010

Jabba The Hutt was so fat, he must have wondered what a Han Solo Popsicle tasted like. I’m surprised he never inserted a stick and had a lick or two. Apparently he tastes like a creamsicle.

This awesome shirt is only $9 plus $2 shipping ($5 international) over at Teefury. All of the frozen Han Solo goodness without all of the melting. I have to get one of these myself.

Mad Catz’s Wireless Fender Telecaster is distressed

Posted in Controllers by Conner Flynn on October 7th, 2009

Mad Catz's Wireless Fender Telecaster is distressedWe’ve seen plenty of Rock Band guitars, but the new Rock Band ‘Player’s Edition’ Fender Telecaster for the Xbox 360 has a distressed look. For $110. By now I would think everyone has a Rock Band guitar, so $110 seems pretty steep, distressing or no.

The Mad Catz guitar also features Shredderz fret buttons that should make it easier to rock those solos. Some other features include the optional Electro-Harmonix Overdrive Pedal, the back tuning button, tilt mechanism, and a new touch sensitive pickup.

The ioSafe is not shockproof however and is not designed to be dropped from great distances or thrown around. It is however built to withstand intense heat (up to 1550 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes), complete submersion (up to 10 feet for 3 days!) and is encased in a rugged enclosure making it like the Sherman tank of external drives.
