iMac Hamster Cage on Ebay

Posted in DIY by Conner Flynn on September 15th, 2009

iMac Hamster Cage on EbayThis is as good a use as we’ve ever seen for an old iMac. Basically somebody just gutted the monitor and created a new home for their pet. Somehow he managed to completely gut it without cracking the thing.

If you want your own hamster living in luxury, this original blue iMac cage is available on Ebay. It can be yours for $350. Great way to force your hamster into Apple loyalty.

Critter Cruiser racetrack makes your Hamster dizzy

Critter Cruiser racetrack makes your Hamster dizzyYou might remember when we told you about the Critter Cruiser awhile back. The hamster hot rod that you park your critter in so you can give him a ride, because it’s nice to get out of the cage once in a while. Well, now it comes with the Hamtrack, so your little gerbil friend can go round and round like a furry Nascar driver who’s not afraid to poop in his car, getting exercise the whole time.

The car works both with and without the track. The car is about $36, while the car and track set will cost you about $63. Maybe you can get some sponsors for your rat races and put little stickers on the car. I’m pretty sure we here at the ‘Brick would like a piece of that action.

Toaster makes even your buns toasty, not a Hamster sauna

Toaster makes even your buns toasty, not a Hamster sauna
This toaster is different. The cage on top spins so that your buns can get perfectly toasted on all sides. Now, I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking that this would be the perfect spa type accessory for your hamster. That tubby furball could stand to lose a few pounds right? Wrong. It would kill him. It’s for toast, it’s not a Richard Simmons hamster treadmill, though I hear that’s available too.

Now that we have that out of the way, this toaster even has a few heating drawers that will keep slices of toast crisp and warm. Hopefully it’s available in more colors. I’d like to see it in chrome, while I watch my buns battle it out in a steel cage match to the death.

Hamster powered toy car looks fun, fast

Hamster powered toy car looks fun, fast
Let’s face it, if you’re a hamster it doesn’t get much better then this. It’s either riding in the self-powered Critter Cruiser, or passing your time between defecating in one corner of your cage and drinking precious drops of water from your dripping IV bottle in the other corner.

This self-powered Rat-rod is the highlight of your life, my furry friend. But sadly, your rodent brain doesn’t seem to know the difference between this and the wheel in your cage. Which, frankly, sucks for you. So, in conclusion, this is probably more fun for us humans to watch. I think we should probably harness hamster power to charge our gadgets. Check out the video below.

The Inlet-Outlet: Harnessing energy from your daily life

The Inlet-Outlet: Harnessing energy from your daily lifeThis may come as shock to you, but you are wasting energy. Everyday. How about giving back, simply by plugging into your wall? It may come sooner than you think. Nearly every room in our home has an electrical outlet. What if each one had a matching electrical “inlet” so you could give some back?

The idea is that adapter kits would be made available to convert common household products into energy-generating devices. Things like exercise equipment, for instance. Maybe even the wheel in your hamster’s cage.
