Nomad Electric Guitar folds up

Nomad Electric Guitar folds up
So you have to get to your gig, which requires you to lug your guitar through the streets, maybe on a bus or two. It’s a real hassle, man. When are they gonna realize that you rock and give you that super amazing record deal? I mean you beat the hell out of Guitar Hero.

The Nomad electric guitar won’t get you noticed by labels, but it can make your life easier by being very portable. Other guitar makers tried making a guitar that folds once, but it can still be awkward. The neck on the Electric Nomad folds twice. The guitar is a competition size electric ax with all the regular features. It just folds up to half its normal size. The neck folds, and the strings roll up on a spool.

Guitar Grip: your Nintendo DS may now rock
DS owners will love this. Guitar antics are not just for those stay-at-home consoles anymore. According to Video Games Zone, the upcoming Guitar Hero on Tour title can be enjoyed with this Guitar Grip.

It might have four buttons instead of five, but who cares! You’ll be rocking out with your DS by holding the DS upright and tapping the buttons of the peripheral in the GBA slot. You can strum the touchscreen for the pickin’. It may not be a full sized Gibson, but hey it’s portable rockin’ at your fingertips. Of course, strumming on a portable of this size may make you look more like Tiny Tim then Slash.

Guitar Hero gets portable
I guess if you want Guitar Hero on the go or if you are a Leprechaun wanting to play the game in your size, you are in luck my friends. This miniature version was created by Basic Fun, and it looks like they got Activision’s approval. It’s called the “Guitar Hero Carabiner,” and it will make it’s debut next week at the International Toy Fair in New York.

It measures in at only 7.75 long and 3 inches wide, though the neck can fold down to cut its length in half. The carabiner also has the ability to dangle from your bag or backpack, in case your pocket real estate is already full with a DS and the like.

Game Consoles
The highlights of the year come as no surprise if you’ve been reading our coverage of game console sales with the Nintendo Wii topping the list of most console units sold at 6.29 million. The Wii spent the year at a lower price-point than rival consoles and caught the attention of a wide range of gamers. Behind the Wii in console sales was the Xbox 360 with 4.62 million units sold in 2007, which was helped out a little bit by the wildly popular Halo 3. Next in line was not Sony’s new Playstation 3 but it’s older brother, the Playstation 2. Sony moved 3.97 million PS2 units in 2007 and 2.56 million PS3s.

November 207 video game sales topped by Call of DutyThe marketing research firm NPD has turned in their analysis of what the top video game titles and consoles were last month and the news is very good for the industry as a whole. Leading the top in sales of new software was Activision’s “Call of Duty 4″ for the Microsoft Xbox 360 which sold an impressive 1.57 million copies. Nintendo’s “Super Mario Galaxy” came in second place and if you combine the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 sales for “Assassin’s Creed” it would actually take the silver medal. Not coincidentally Ubisoft’s “Assassin’s Creed” has emerged as the best-selling new IP for games in recent years.

Nintendo’s handheld DS gaming device sold an amazing 1.53 million units in November which was enough to give it the top of the chart for hardware sales. In second place was Nintendo’s Wii gaming console with 981,000 Wiis sold followed by Microsoft’s Xbox 360 in third spot with 770,000 units finding homes. Sony moved 577,000 PlayStation Portable to give it fourth place and the price drop in the PS3 convinced 466,000 consumers to go out and buy one of the consoles last month.

Concert on your desktop with Live Jam

With Live Jam, you can watch your little albino musicians(Who kind of resemble the Pillsbury Doughboy, but more fit) play individually or you can put them together to give performances that will rock your world as they interact with each other.

Each musician can connect with other Live Jam musicians to form a band. Apparently, they have some unseen roadies too, because they have multicolored LED stage lighting that sets the mood. They come in your choice of Drummer, Guitarist and Keyboard player.

MPIO FL500 portable media playerHere’s an MP3 player that breaks from the mainstream mold with a retro-look and analog-like controls. The design of the MPIO FL500 was inspired by the looks of an electric guitar which gives it the triangle design and big silver metal knobs.

madden 07 top selling game of 2006The PlayStation 2 and the Xbox 360 had a pretty good year with game sales. This news comes on the heals of PlayStation 2′s surprising sales showing.
