SAT119: The Fire Extinguisher You Throw |
Fire extinguishers are pretty easy to operate, but let’s face it, in life there’s always one guy who doesn’t get it, no matter how simple. So we need an extinguisher that even an idiot can use. The SAT119 will do the trick. It’s a Japanese invention. Just throw the SAT119 on a nearby fire and it is gone.
Of course you better throw it in the right spot and not miss. Okay, so it is nearly idiot-proof. It’s basically just a chemical mix that reacts instantly once released from its container. The blue liquid unleashes carbon dioxide that snuffs the oxygen right out of the fire. No oxygen, no fire. Right now the SAT119 is only good for small contained fire though. This could be pretty handy to have in an emergency however. Maybe to put out a fire in one small room.

Obviously you shouldn’t try this at home. It’s not a real smart idea to start modding live grenades. This one was an inert hand grenade, therefore the creator still walks among us. Ingredients? 1 inert grenade, a 1GB Sansa MP3 player and a hacksaw. That’s all you need.
I’m not sure if I could use this mouse. For one thing, the urge to pull the pin would be too great and I would be afraid of it going off in my hand since it was apparently made from an old grenade casing. Though I suppose it’s more likely to kill your wrist with it’s anti-ergonomics.
Since the summer began my house has been besieged by woodpeckers. The birds pecked on my house until they have actually made holes in the eaves. I really want to get rid of the little red head birds, but I don’t want to just go postal on them.
Attention all you Halo 3 lovers – you can now carry your game pride around on your shoulder as you haul around your laptop day to day. Master Chief says to outfit yourself with this new Halo 3 Messenger Bag, priced at around $40.
This little Pinqy fire extinguisher looks more like something dangerous than something that will save you in an emergency. The grenade-shaped extinguisher is only 14 cm tall and is lightweight but packs the same pressure as a larger 1kg extinguisher. It obviously doesn’t pack the same volume though and the company recommends it as a handy gadget “when you have the beginnings of a fire at hand”.
