GefenTV launches Auto Volume Stabilizer to quiet those commercials |
I really hate it when I am watching something that isn’t on the DVR and I have to watch commercials. I hate it even more when those commercials are ten times louder than the show I was trying to watch to start with. GefenTV has a new device called the Auto Volume Stabilizer.
The little device connects inline between your source device like a Blu-ray player or set-top box and your audio system. It has analog and digital inputs on the rear and adjusts the volume to consistent levels without you ever realizing it is doing it. At least that is what GefenTV claims.

OK, so we all know that home theater isn’t exactly a cheap thing to get into. That is assuming something other than the cheap and bad sounding gear from your local Walmart is on the menu. When you are trying to get surround sound into a small space things can be ever more tricky.

The GefenTV wireless HDMI extender will send HD video from the player to an HD display up to 100 feet away. The HD video delivered over the air will even deliver 1080/30p quality with Dolby 5.1 surround sound within that 100-foot distance.
I have a problem with the amount of HDMI inputs offered on most of the HDTV sets available today. Typically, you only get three HDMI connections and some TVs offer even less. That means for users with multiple game consoles with HDMI, Satellite boxes, Blu-ray players or an Apple TV you end up manually changing cables frequently.

Gefen is now making available a USB to DVI connector for those who want to add additional digital video displays or projectors. It is called the Gefen USB to DVI Graphics Adapter and it will cost you around $130.
Gefen announced to the press via an email a few days ago its upcoming
Not all home theater systems, especially older ones, have video upscaling as a feature in either the DVD player or A/V receiver. For those people Gefen has announced its new Home Theater Scaler Plus, priced at around $500.
Gone are the days of having your USB devices tethered within the standard 5 meter limit of a USB cable. The Gefen USB 400FO USB extender kit uses fiber optics with full USB 2.0 standard compatibility to stretch the reach of not just one but four USB connections up to 1,650 feet or 500 meters.
How would you like to be able to use select USB devices a good distance away from your computer? That’s the idea behind the new Gefen Wireless USB Extender, priced at around $400.
