Nintendo’s successor to the GameCube continues to sell more units than its two chief rivals, the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony’s PlayStation 3. In February consumers purchased 335,000 Wiis compared to 228,000 Xbox 360s and 127,000 PS3s. Shortage Continues for Sony PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii Game ConsolesAnalysts are reporting that the shortage of the Sony PlayStation 3 and Nintindo Wii game consoles may continue up until March or even longer.

Paul-John McNealy from American Technology Research said that even though Sony has a target of shipping 1 million game consoles by year end, that could translate into 600,000 to 800,000 actual units being shipped since the 1 million included ones that are warehoused and in-transit.
