Do you have a spare Mini Cooper in your garage? If so, maybe you can make an awesome gaming chair out of it like Designer David Gawthorpe did with this halfcut of a Mini Cooper. It took two-years to do, but he stuck with it and the end result is pretty stunning.

It opens up to reveal a force feedback chair, speakers, a racing wheel, and pedals for all your racing games. There’s also a mini fridge, strobe lights and even a smoke machine. Beneath the seat there is an Xbox 360 console. It will cost you $12,883 (£8000) and it is in London.

We all know that MMos are addictive, but you have to really be devoted to shell out $15K to play one on a giant screen. That’s what this guy did. He payed $15,000 to use a giant screen in Beijing to play a MMO. The screen was 820 feet long and he sat in a deck chair playing the game and looking up. Hopefully he was happy with the purchase.

The story behind it is that this guy was not happy that a competing guildmaster got to play in an IMAX theater. So this likely outdoes the other guy. At least we hope so. We’d hate to see them in some long drawn out screen war.

I’m okay with just sitting on the sofa while playing my PS3, but if you really want to immerse yourself in the game and have some money to burn, why not check out the X-Dream Gyroxus gaming chair?

It’s available for the Xbox 360, PC, PS3, PS2 and Nintendo Wii. The PS3 version is already available for pre-order at £399.95 (That’s $637). Let’s be honest here, immersion at that price isn’t going to get you much. But if you want a fancy new chair, this should be arriving in late August.

Google is famous for its perks and the things that its workers can enjoy at company HQ. From game rooms to gourmet meals and more, Google tries all sorts of things to keep the workers happy and productive. When most companies get mad at workers for napping on the job, Google encourages it.

A reporter from the Financial Times was at Google HQ in California and snapped a pic of an employee using a cool high tech sleep pod. The pod is made by a company called Metronaps.

A chair in the shape of Pac-Man just makes perfect sense. Especially if your room looks like a maze from the game. It’s only a concept right now, but it’s perfect for geeks and retro arcade lovers.

It makes an artistic statement that says that we are all ghosts when lounging in Pac-Man’s mouth. Or perhaps some of us are ghosts and others power-pellets. Now, if only it could gobble up certain guests on command…

It helps keep your overpriced pad all neat and tidy. Who cares that it looks freakish and pompous and only seats one. If you want two people to be able to sit during a Billiards game, you’ll just buy two and store some more expensive stuff in the second one. Ahhh, it’s good to be rich and buy fugly things.

Gamerox is a new concept in game seating, designed for younger gamers by designer Tim Briggs. The basic idea is that keeps them moving while playing games, so their little muscles don’t atrophy and so they won’t need a walker by age 12 due to too many First Person Shooters. The design and patented mechanisms encourage full 3D body movement during game play. This movement improves circulation and aids muscle and skeletal development. Gamerox also assists in the development of coordination, balance and spatial awareness.

So if your kid seems kind of, uh, dumb, weak and not so self aware because of their gaming, this may set them straight. Apparently the seat design encourages an upright sitting position which is good for core stability, muscle training and posture development. Gamerox can be used with any game console.

There’s no denying that playing the Nintendo Wii is very fun with its unique control method. The one thing I don’t like playing on the Wii is driving games. I don’t care for steering the vehicle with the Wii remote turned sideways. I have wished for a real steering wheel on more than one occasion and Logitech has finally made my wish come true.

Logitech has announced the first force feedback wheel ever for the Nintendo Wii. The racing wheel is called the Logitech Speed Force Wireless racing wheel and is licensed by Nintendo. The wheel is easy to set up and store thanks to one-piece design that does not use pedals. Controls for brake and throttle are located on the wheel. Logitech equipped the wheel with an expandable lap rest that allows you to play while sitting on a chair or couch.

If you’re the kind of gamer that looks more like an evil super villain while sitting in your chair with all of your screens and peripherals, then here’s something to complete the theme. Like many guys my age that grew up on video games and now have the money to buy what they want to satisfy the need for gaming, I am always on the lookout for something new and cool. I have force feedback controllers and the like, but what I really want is a full-motion simulator for driving and flying games. You can get them now, but they are much more expensive than I am interested in paying.

The Gyroxus hit market at a price of $479, not too bad for a full-motion simulator, but certainly not cheap when you consider you can get any of today’s console systems for less than that amount. Today 4th Motion — the makers of the Gyroxus — announced that the price of the Gyroxus was being cut by $100.

The Gyroxus Full-Motion game chair is compatible with all of the popular consoles (PC, XBox 360, Playstation 2 & Playstation 3 and Nintendo), As you can see from the name, it’s not just a motion game chair, but a full-motion game chair.

I wish I was impressed, but it looks like molded plastic and with a Maximum Weight load of 250lbs, I don’t think many of todays gamers can fit in it. As far as I can tell, you put your controller on that flight stick thing and somehow it all works after paying $479.00. If you like you can pay $79.95 for 6 months and really drag out your purchase.

If you are a really big fan of Capcom games and want to feel the rumble of getting your butt kicked in Street Fighter and the like, the new Capcom-branded Reactor Video Game Chair from Ultimate Game Chair is for you. It will price around $180.

The Capcom Reactor Video Game Chair sports “eight high-impact vibrating motors and 3D-stereo sound.” The motors are located in the upper and lower back, as well as the seat cushion, offering a massage mode as well.

According to a report in the NYT, Grand Theft Auto IV reached sales of over $500 million in its first seven days on the market. Take Two Interactive said the game sold approximately 6 million copies worldwide since its launch last Tuesday.

The numbers significantly exceeded expectations of many analysts who expected to see around 5 million copies sold in the first two weeks. Take Two also stated that 3.6 million of those copies were sold the first day of the launch globally for around $310 million in sales. This number even exceeds the numbers we saw for the Halo 3 launch for both first day and first week sales.

When it comes to getting my gadget or video game fix and I don’t want to wait for something to ship from an online store it’s off to Best Buy or Circuit City for me. I also like to watch lots of movies and I am in the movie store almost every Tuesday looking for something cool to watch and Blockbuster is a store of choice. It seems that Blockbuster and Circuit City could see a merger at some time in the near future.

Blockbuster announced today that it has offered to buy Circuit City for $6.00 per share in cash with the offer subject to due diligence. Blockbuster says that the offer was made in a letter sent to Circuit City Chairman and CEO Philip Schoonover on February 17 on behalf of the Blockbuster Board of Directors.

Pyramat, known for making innovative gaming accessories, brought a well stacked line up of products to CES. This items included a full-on chair, a laptop accessory and a few rockers. All of these products should be available now.

Pyramat was specifically showing off the PC Gaming Chair 2.1 (pictured), Laptop Sound Booster, PM450-WR Sound Rocker and S5000 Sound Rocker. Prices on these items range from around $90 to $250.
