One thing about R2-D2′s design that Lucas never anticipated was that it would provide so much versatility when decapitated. From the R2 ice bucket, to R2 speakers, this little droid loses his head all the time. I’m surprised he hasn’t been in a Highlander movie. C-3PO is the prissy effeminate one and he hasn’t had so much bad treatment.

Now headless R2 will serve you up some cold drinks as a USB cooler. It goes on sale August 8. All I know for sure is that somewhere there is a huge warehouse full of R2-D2 scalps. Some nerd will likely wander in one day and have a nervous breakdown at the horrible sight.

Now here is the ultimate manly tool box. This baby from Kobalt is nearly four and a half feet tall with LED lighting, it’s own Pioneer sound system, a mini-fridge for your beers and a four-plug powerstrip built in.

It basically allows you to live in your garage. At 53-inches, it has enough trays and drawers for all your needs. In fact it will hold up to 4,000 pounds of weight. The 3-way Pioneer sound system is on top so it can radiate everywhere, the fridge is in the bottom left. After you get this thing in the garage, the only left to do is hang up some nude pics and invite some friends over. It will cost you $1,600.

The Souped Up John is the ultimate in geek bathroom luxury. The designer certainly wasn’t constipated when it came to throwing ideas into this john, but was certainly counting on your constipation to keep you in place long enough to use all of the various gadgetry.

It sports a television, TiVo, DVD, XBox, laptop, fridge and of course the toilet paper holder comes standard. Plus an iPod docking station. You also get some exercise pedals in front for when you really need to shake those bowels loose. The megaphone is there so others can cater to any needs not already provided for.

Sure, you can give your Mom this Home Appliance alarm clock for Mother’s Day…If you want to get smacked into next Wednesday. Listen son, your mom works hard every day. She’s got to clean up after your sorry butt, not to mention the rest of the family. Do you really think she wants to see yet another appliance that will remind her of all the work she still has to do?

Then again, if you really don’t care and she’s hard to shop for, go ahead and take the chance. The clock comes in a fridge, stove, iron, blender and washing machine. They’re priced at around $20 each. The washing machine shakes and shows a sudsy animation when it’s time to wake up. Oh, she’ll love that.

We’ve seen a number of products featuring not just Han Solo but Han Solo frozen in carbonite, including this idea for a ‘fridge and we’ve even seen some pictures floating around of Han in carbonite built out of legos. Well now you can steal Vader’s prize to Boba Fett and have the frozen Han Solo for yourself and turned into a practical piece of furniture. This desk is actually real and was created by Tom Spina Designs for a client with an apparent love for Star Wars and some extra cash lying around.

No matter what the movie or property, there are always some ideas that just don’t fly. Especially when it comes to the mega-merchandising of Star Wars. Some are neat, while some are better left unspoken of. Back in 1999 when Jar Jar was born, Pepsi and Lucasarts brainstormed and came up with a bunch of Star Wars promotional products. These are the rejects.

How about a Han Solo carbonite fridge? The Death Star cooking meat in the form of a grill? It’s a shame that these never came to be. I mean, how cool is an AT-AT Walker chair caddy? Or a Darth Vader gumball machine that dispenses mini death stars. See them all after the jump.

This little Iwavecube personal microwave is pretty self-explanatory. It’s measures just 10.5″x12″x10″ so it doesn’t take up a lot of room, but you aren’t going to be putting a big microwaveable TV dinner in there either. We’re often surprised here at the ‘Brick by the different types of things that companies come up with which are powered by a USB connection. Most do seem to make a lot of sense though; people are spending more and more time at their computers and most of these devices don’t require a lot of juice to power them. This far infrared heating pad is a good example, offering the benefits of infrared heat through the convenience of a USB connection.

It looks like that USB Mini Fridge we saw earlier this year, not unlike Spiderman, has had it’s suit changed from red to black and has come up with some advanced powers. Now this little fridge that snugly fits a single 12 ounce can will not only cool it down, but can also heat it up.

The iHome iHC5S is one of those incredible multi-gadgets that pack maybe one-too-many features into a single system. Fortunately in this case the features all seem to pretty much go together, unlike the stranger combination found Mini-Fridge we saw earlier this month.

iHome has put together a clock radio that connects wirelessly via the Handsfree, Headset, AVRCP and A2DP Bluetooth profiles to give a system that integrates with Bluetooth enabled mobile phones.
