Star Wars foosball table made entirely with LEGOs

Posted in lego by Conner Flynn on March 1st, 2010

You have to be a real Lego fan to make a Star Wars Foosball table entirely out of Legos and Flickr user 2×4 is just such a fan. He has created a Lego Star Wars foosball table that is functional and playable.

The table features C-3PO as the goalie against a whole bunch of storm troopers. Everything is made from Legos, even the table itself is made from LEGOs. Pretty great work. I wonder how sturdy it is.

Marubot Football League arcade game

Marubot Football League arcade gameThis game looks much more fun than Foosball. In MaruBot Football League four players control small wireless robots with joysticks. Each of the robots has an actual personality, with LED eyes that display whether they are happy or sad.

They are happy when they score a goal and sad if they lose. Why four players? The games makers see MaruBot as being all about “cooperation and partnership, minimizing individualism, isolation, violence of online games.” There’s also a two-player version. It’s a hit in Korea, so maybe one day we will see it here.

Space Foosball turns Foosball into a video game

Space Foosball turns Foosball into a video gameWe’ve seen some crazy Foosball tables, but nothing like this one. It’s clearly from the future and it’s name is Space Foosball. Basically they’ve turned foosball into a tabletop video game.

Sure it takes some of the fun out of it. No spinning paddles that kick a real ball around the table. But think about it. The players can now be anything. Donkey Kong Vs. Mario, Space Invaders… The possibilities are endless.

LEGO Minifig Dynamo Flashlight

Posted in lego by Conner Flynn on August 10th, 2009

LEGO Minifig Dynamo FlashlightWe all love us some LEGO, whether in statue form or as a Foosball table, or whatever. This one takes a green approach, combining LEGO and a flashlight.

This 7″ tall Lego minifig has a set of white LED lights in its right foot that can be used as a flashlight. It’s powered by a dynamo, so you can charge it up by cranking the minifig’s left arm. Yeah, it isn’t really a minifig at 7″ tall. We know.

LEGO coffee table foosball

LEGO coffee table foosballLEGO fans who are also foosball fans will love this one. This LEGO Coffee Table Foosball Table features custom minifigs and an authentic “faux” oak woodgrain finish. The creator says that he still has to tweak some of the finer details, but it looks pretty amazing. Much nerdier and cooler than the Barbie Foosball table.

The only question we have is, how durable is this? It has some amazing detail and looks like a lot of fun. The pirate flag is a nice touch. Now, who will battle him in the first official LEGO foosball championship? You know it’s coming. Better keep an eye out and get your tickets.

Barbie Foosball Table

BarbieBarbie has everything. A dream house, Milabu dream car, and all kinds of other stuff I can’t name because I’m a guy. Well, now she has her own Barbie Foosball table. It’s like a bunch of 11″ ditzy bubble-headed dames suddenly got skewered through their armpits and are forced to play sports for your amusement.

That’s pretty much the whole story. It’s from french designer Chloe Ruchon who wants to make some sort of artsy-fartsy statement. We just see it as very pink and very full of airheads. It’s likely also full of several young girl’s hopes and dreams…

Foosball gets some serious style with “Eleven”

Foosball gets some serious style with “Eleven”
Here’s some news that’s sure to make Foosball fans everywhere happy. “Eleven”, by GRO design and TIM modeling, gives the classic game of Foosball a long overdue stylish makeover with some handcrafted design and slick lighting effects. The idea is to heighten the drama and excitement of the game through atmosphere, colors, material etc.

In other words this isn’t your average run of the mill Foosball table, it’s the class act of Foosball tables. Like a stadium in itself. The players are even machined in brass and chrome. No word yet on whether this concept will go into production.

12 more rejected Star Wars promotional items

12 more rejected Star Wars promotional items
Remember when we showed you the rejected Star Wars items in February? Well here’s 12 more items of questionable quality and to add to the list.

With all the Star Wars items on the market today, this has to be pretty bad, tacky and just out there stuff, to have been rejected right? How about Bantha slippers? Some seem fine, if a bit odd, like Galactic Foosball or the Death Star dart board. My favorite is the Galactic Big Game trophies. Nothing says geek like the heads of various Star Wars beasts on the wall. Pictures galore below.
