Mimoco announces more Hello Kitty USB drives

This new line of Hello Kitty USB drives from Mimoco should please all of the girls out there. Three creatures from Sanrio’s cute Hello Kitty world are featured. Specifically Hello Kitty, Badtz-Maru and Hangyodon.

All three are available in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB capacities. The cap is the head of each Mimobot and they are preloaded with a bunch of content specific to each character like wallpapers and avatars. The price? Only $34.95.

Kingston’s first USB 3.0 Flash Drives

It’s far from their first flash drives, but Kingston has unveiled their first range of USB 3.0 flash drives. The DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0. These new drives sport the usual design looks and are available in three different capacities: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.

These drives feature both the USB 3.0/2.0 interfaces and will deliver read and write speeds of up to 80MB/s and 60MB/s, respectively. The 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models are priced at $89, $138 and $270.

A-Data C008 USB Flash Drive now available in Europe

A-Data’s newest line of USB flash drives, the C008, was announced back in August. Now they have arrived in European retail stores. These drives come in both 4GB and 8GB capacities.

They are capless flash drives with a matte-textured, scratchproof body and feature a slide-out USB 2.0/1.1 connector. They come in two color options, blue/white and black/red as seen above.

LaCie shows off tiny MosKeyto flash drive

I have a bunch of flash drives lying around my office and they are all fat drives that block USB ports and need to be plugged into a port with a lot of room around it. This is a huge pain, especially if you are on a netbook or notebook with only a few ports.

LaCie has debuted a new flash drive called the MosKeyto that is tiny and looks more like one of those nano receivers for wireless mice and keyboards than a flash drive. The little drive measures 21 x 16 x 10mm and weighs 10g. You can plug the tiny drive into the USB port and just leave it if you want.

Princeton outs new USB Flash Drives

Princeton is getting ready to drop a new line of USB flash drives called the Xiao Turn 2. These are pretty colorful with an interesting style and come in capacities from 2GB to 32GB.

These pocket-friendly drives have a rotating cover, a USB 2.0 interface and will play nice with Windows 7, Vista, XP and Mac OS X 10.1.3 or later. The 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB models will be available in early September for $16, $21, $36, $69 and $139.

Kodak EasyShare D1026 digital picture frame

Kodak has just released the EasyShare D1026 digital picture frame, which makes it super easy to add images and share them with those around you. The 10.4 inch display will display images in the 4:3 aspect ratio (800×600) in JPEG and EXIF formats.

This frame also has 512 MB of memory, with memory expansion via SDHC/MMC/SD/XP-Picture/memory stick or a USB flash drive. It is designed to look more like a traditional picture frame, so it can go anywhere.

Verbatim has just launched their new Secure ‘n’ Go USB drive, which will deliver 256bit-AES hardware-encryption and of course, the all important password protection.

The drive also comes enhanced for Windows ReadyBoost, which improves your PC’s performance by letting your PC use memory capacity on your flash drive to speed up system performance. The Verbatim Secure ‘n’ Go Secure Data drive is available in 4GB for $37, 8GB for $74, and 16GB for $125.

Inkel VR-654BD Blu-ray player with integrated 7.1-channel AV receiver

Inkel is offering folks in South Korea the VR-654BD Blu-ray player, which comes equipped with a built-in 7.1-channel AV receiver for your home theater system. Of course there’s Blu-ray and DVD support, but the device also features USB 2.0 connectivity as well.

Some other features include the ability to handle DivX and XviD file format playback straight from a USB flash drive, DB Live 2.0, and an integrated FM tuner radio. It should hit the South Korea market by the end of this month for $600. We may see it elsewhere soon after.

Technocel Battery Boost has internal battery and microSD slot

Technocel has unveiled a new charging solution that carries the Sprint brand called the Technocel Battery Boost. The device has an internal battery along with a microSD card slot to act as flash storage.

The internal battery is a 600mAh unit good for an extra hour of runtime according to the maker. It will work with any device that uses a microUSB connector.

SanDisk ships its smallest USB thumb drive, the Cruzer Blade

SanDisk claims that its Cruzer Blade is the world’s smallest USB flash drive. We believe it. The drive is “about the size of a standard size paper clip and weighing approximately the same as a penny.”

It’s perfect for hanging from your keyring, when not getting lost in the folds of your couch and such. It’s available in capacities from 2GB to 16GB, with prices from $14.99 to $77.99. When they say small they mean small, just not in price.

Digital photo frames are neat, but when you tire of displaying the same images, what can you do with it? Well, in this case you can use it as a USB monitor. The WIN ACCORD DF10411-13 10.4-inch digital photo frame doubles as a USB monitor for a notebook, thanks to EzDisplay software.

The device supports SD cards, MMC, Memory Stick readers and USB flash drives. Nothing on pricing or a release date yet, but we should know soon. Hopefully we will see it in the US.
