Rezurrection Call of Duty: Black Ops map pack to be released August 23rd on Xbox 360

Fans of Black Ops have something to be very happy about. The latest map pack titled “Rezurrection” will be coming to the Xbox 360 followed by PC and PlayStation 3 later. Sadly these maps will not be multiplayer maps though.

You get a new map level called “Moon” along with four re-mastered zombie maps: “Nacht der Üntoten,” “Verrückt,” “Shi No Numa” and “Der Riese.” They should be released on August 23rd for the XBox, with PS3 and PC following later.

All of Time Inc’s Publications Will Be Available As Tablet Editions By 2012

If you are a fan of Time Inc’s publications, you’ll be happy to know that it will be bringing all its 21 publications out as tablet editions before the end of the year. Time Inc. is the first major U.S. magazine publisher to make all of its titles available specifically for tablet devices.

Time Inc. has also announced a new agreement with Barnes & Noble to sell digital subscriptions of its publications on the NOOK Color e-reader. No surprise there. The new e-reader editions will be available toward the end of August.

Diablo III Details: Not Good

Fans of the Diablo franchise from Blizzard have been waiting for Diablo III. Now some details on the game surfaced and gamers are not happy about them. For one thing the game will require a constant internet connection and there is no offline mode.

Yep, you can only play online. But it gets worse. Blizzard has specifically disallowed game mods and bots. This is one of the main reasons people play the game. The final nail in the coffin is that all of the items in the online auction houses will be sold for real world money. No farming for gold and making loot by killing enemies. T-Mobile Gets Windows Phone 7 4G Stickers For Future Display

Here ya go Windows Phone 7 fans. This may be the first bit of evidence that a 4G Windows Phone 7 device is coming to T-Mobile. As you might know, T-Mobile stores often get display unit stickers, graphics and images long before a phone arrives and in this case it looks like a new Windows Phone 7 device is coming.

There is a distinct difference between the Windows Phone 7 stickers and 4G Windows Phone 7 stickers. Right now the only possible Windows Phone 7 device that has been rumored is the HTC Bresson, with it’s 16 megapixel camera.

ESPN split screen on Xbox

Sports fans will now have a special treat on the Xbox. Microsoft has confirmed plans to launch an updated version of the ESPN service on Xbox Live on Aug. 25. One of the most interesting new features is a split-screen view for watching two games at once.

The pdate coincides with the college football season. Other new features include a mini guide at the bottom of the screen, and the ESPN “BottomLine” news and score ticker that we all know and love. ESPN on Xbox 360 is free to Xbox Live Gold members who connect through participating broadband providers.

White Galaxy S II leaks

The white Samsung Galaxy S II has been spotted. This leaked snap appears just one day after a UK retailer promised that it would go on sale August 15th. We don’t know if that’s true, but we know that you can now sign-up for “more info” on Samsung’s website.

In any event US fans of this phone should be hearing more from the company soon. So do you like your phones in white or black? Or do you want another color entirely?

Onkyo Unveils New Android Remote Streaming App

Those of you with an Onkyo music system will like this news. Onkyo has announced the launch of their new Android remote control streaming application. The new Android Onkyo application connects to your music system using your Wi-Fi network and allows you to stream music from your Android devices to an Onkyo network audio system.

The new App also allows you to browse your networked music collection without viewing on-screen menus on a connected display, instead using the touch-screen GUI on your Android device. Pretty sweet. Onkyo will sell more units now that they have a fancy new remote.

iFixit tears down new MacBook Air

iFixit has a new MacBook Air. You know what that means.Tearing it open and checking it out. So what did they find. There’s the new Thunderbolt port of course and the fancy new keyboard backlighting. But inside is where all the good stuff is.

There’s an Intel Core i5 processor of course and a Bluetooth 4.0 chip and we also learned that the MacBook Air scores a four out of ten for ease of repair, so it might be best to leave this job to the experts. After all this toy is expensive.

Fans of True Blood will be drooling between their fangs for these True Blood inspired headphones. They are called the True Blood REVAMP and are Metal High-Fidelity In-Ear Headphones from V-Moda.

It has the Silver bullet design, the True Blood logo and Chinese symbols like you would find on a bottle of Tru Blood. These will retail for $120 but will be offered for a discounted price of $99.99 through Season 4 of the TV show.

Doctor Who Tardis USB Hub

Doctor Who fans will love this USB hub. It features a flashing lantern on top and Tardis sound effects. You may not find the Doctor and his companion inside, but it will prove very useful sitting on your desk.

It will cost you about £23. Hopefully it won’t suddenly de-materialize and go on it’s own adventure, but if it does I’m sure it will be back soon. After all, Earth seems to be home base for the Doctor these days.

Apple 27-inch Thunderbolt display with FaceTime HD camera and built-in speakers

Apple’s new Thunderbolt display is a 27-inch model with a 2560 x 1440 resolution 16:9 IPS display. It packs in Apple’s new connectors, an integrated 2.1 speaker system, and a Firewire 800 slot. If that isn’t enough, there’s also a built-in FaceTime HD camera and Mic, Gigabit Ethernet, three USB 2.0 ports and MagSafe charging for your MacBook.

The DisplayPort hookup can daisy chain up to six high speed devices. It will cost $999. Just when Apple fans had some money in the bank, they now have something more to buy.

Batman: Arkham City Collector’s Edition

We’re all eagerly awaiting the release of the new Batman game Arkham City on October 21st. Hardcore fans will want this collectors edition which includes a whole bunch of special extras, like a custom Batman statue, collectible art book, early DLC access, the Batman: Arkham City soundtrack, the DC Universe animated original movie Batman: Gotham Knight and four collectible cards.

There’s also the game of course, which looks awesome and is sure to provide many hours of play. It will be available for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in October 2011.

Thanko USB-powered necktie clip cooler

Wearing a suit and tie in the office can make for a hot day, but with Thanko’s latest offering, you can cool down while wearing your monkey suit. The USB-powered necktie clip cooler is just $35. Sadly it’s only available to those in Japan though.

I guess the rest of us will just have to sweat a bit longer. The device is powered by either USB or a battery. Just clip it to your tie and it will send fresh air your way. This is basically just a computer fan mounted on your tie.

Microsoft says no to Windows Phone 7 based tablets

Sorry Windows Phone 7 fans. Microsoft has announced that there will not be any tablets running on the Windows Phone 7 operating system. The company views tablets as more of a personal computer, not a mobile device.

All hope is not lost though. A Windows based tablet might show up using the Windows 8 operating system, which should arrive in 2012, and this will be the only tablet OS to be issued by the company. I’m sure it will be worth the wait.

Star Trek official PADD app for iPad

It’s a good day for Star Trek fans. CBS has released an official PADD app for the iPad for $5 in the App Store. The app recreates the LCARS interface from TNG-era Trek and is a database for the Trek universe with characters, ships, species, and TV episodes.

It even has sound effects and diagnostic demos from the NCC1701-D Enterprise. In time they should release more content for it.
