Homemade Fallout 3 plasma rifle

Posted in Weapons by Conner Flynn on August 24th, 2010

The A3-21 Plasma Rifle kicks ass in Fallout 3 and it looks pretty awesome in the real world too. Ryan Palser created this bad boy, which took five months to complete. His wife painted it up real nice to give it the weathered look. If they ever make a Fallout movie, they better turn to Ryan and wife for props.

We’d love to see more of Fallout’s weapons in real life, maybe even some Brotherhood of Steel armor. To paraphrase the song from the game, Ryan doesn’t want to set the world on fire, he just wants to start a flame in our hearts with this beast.

Pip-Boy 3000 iTouch

This is the coolest thing we’ve seen all day around here. Someone gutted one of those plastic Pip-Boy 3000 watches and installed an iPod Touch in it. It’s a super clever mod for wandering the wasrelands of the apocalypse.

An actual Pip-Boy 3000 program for the iPod Touch can’t be far behind. Looks like the program he’s showing off is a bunch of stills in the iPod’s photo program. Someone needs to take this idea and make a real honest to god Pip-Boy 3000.

Netflix to quadruple Blu-ray
You can’t have a good format war without some fallout. With the fall of HD-DVD, the question has been raised regarding Netflix’s ability to sustain its subscribers and demands for the Blu-Ray Format. Netflix said today that its subscriber count will be 3% higher than forecast because of price increases from Blockbuster and cheaper online advertising rates. Of course, the raise in price led to a loss of thousands of subscribers for Blockbuster, many of them switching or even returning to Netflix.

Fallout 3 Coming Soon to an Xbox Near You?

fallout 3 coming to xboxSlipperyBrick is a huge fan of the Fallout franchise. In fact, I would rank the Fallout series as my all time favorite right behind Planescape: Torment. I loved the Fallout humor. The music ,the fifties cartoon-ish illustrations and the ability to put a shiny metal ball through the eyes of a mutant at 50 yards with my Red Ryder BB gun.

Like many fans I have waited for the release of Fallout 3 with a great sense of expectation. Then as the game was sold by Interplay …
