nVidia Tegra to be in the next Nintendo handheld? |
Word is that NVIDIA has won a contract with Nintendo for an upcoming handheld game console. Some are describing it as the “successor of the DS/DSi”. Speculation is that the new device would be available around 2010. If true, would this be the current Tegra? Or the next-generation Tegra?
The DSi isn’t that old, so I’m wondering if we are really talking about the next Wii here. Even if it is for a handheld, this would certainly give a nVidia a foot in the door for the next Wii. It’s just rumor for now, but interesting.






Bluetooth headsets are a must in many cities. My state recently passed a law that you can’t talk on your mobile phone in a school zone without a headset. Jabra today unveiled its latest Bluetooth headset called the Arrow that will work for me and anyone else needing a headset.
Those of you in the UK will now be able to get your hands on the Sony Ericsson Satio from Vodafone. Orange will also be offering the handset soon along with T-Mobile and O2. The Satio packs a 12.1MP camera with a Xenon and LED flash, as well as GPS and a widescreen touch display, all based on Symbian S60 5th edition OS.
Sony is about to drop its new Quad Full High Definition (QFHD) LCD display, the TRIMASTER SRM-L560, on the Japanese market. Be warned, it’s for those with huge bank accounts. The 56-inch widescreen monitor is based on a SI TI active matrix LCD panel and delivers an amazing native resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, 10bit RGB LED backlight and a 170/170 degree viewing angle.

Philips has introduced its latest addition to its LCD monitor line with the Brilliance 225P1ES. This 22 inch widescreen monitor includes the PowerSensor feature which detects when the user is not in front of the screen and lowers the contrast and brightness until the user returns.

Google has now started public testing by invitation only of Wave, a new online tool for communication and collaboration between people online. Wave has been described by its designer as what email would look like if it was invented today, and contains real-time communication through text, photos, video, maps and more according to Google.
The Lighthouse SQ7 is described as a Social Media tablet and so will run both Facebook and Twitter. Oddly, it relies mainly on its built-in voice recognition engine to get input from the user. The tablet boasts a 7″ touchscreen display at 800 x 480 resolution, Wi-Fi, and the Samsung ARM S3C6410 667MHz processor.
Hyundai has unveiled two new Full HD Monitors, expanding their lineup with the V226Wa and the V236Wd. Both of these widescreen monitors boast a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 5ms response time, 300 cd/m2 brightness and 20,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.
LG has just unveiled its latest notebook series called WIDEBOOK, which offers a cinematic 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. There will be five new models in all; the R580/R560, R480/R460 and R380. All are LED backlit and powered by Intel Core 2 Duo processors.

Garmin has released the Edge 500 cycling GPS device in blue and white, for cycling enthusiasts. The device offers data on actual positional and speed data as well as estimated calories burned and amount of climb or descent.
