Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on March 20th, 2011

How many times have you been out and about and said to yourself, I really wish I knew how much that model of car is going for? If this happens to you often, then check this out. If you’re living in Sweden, price comparison site Bilpriser.se has just rolled out a new iPhone app that lets you shoot a photo of a car’s license plate and retrieve it’s specs and compare prices for that vehicle.

Apparently it just checks out the government registration database to locate the car’s make and model, then checks the information against their own database so that the right information will be sent to the right users. There are over 9,000 models and 80,000 different versions so you should get the right information most of the time.

Posted in MacBook by Conner Flynn on February 20th, 2011

Best Buy’s laptop discovery tool is giving away some secrets by listing a set of “new SKU” laptops from Apple before the company has had a chance to even announce them. Well, we already knew something was coming anyway, but it looks like this lends some credence to recent rumors of a MacBook Pro refresh coming next week.

The prices are $1,199, $1,499, $1,799, and $2,199, all of which are presently occupied by current-gen 13- and 15-inch MBP versions. There is also an additional $2,499 price for a laptop shown as “New SKU I,” which is probably an upgrade to Apple’s 17-inch model.

So what will the new Playstation Phone be called? Well, a trademark filling was spotted and it looks like Sony will call it the Xperia Play. Adding some credence to this, the company’s PR firm has registered various Xperia Play domain names, such as XperiaPlay.com, .net, and .org.

Sounds like a good name to us. Hopefully we will learn more very soon since CES is just around the corner. Until then just continue drooling. It won’t be long.

Samsung denies Nexus Two rumors

Posted in Samsung by Conner Flynn on November 1st, 2010

Samsung today denied rumors that it was making the Nexus Two. The company told South Korea’s publication Danawa that the claim was “simply not true.” The denial however does lend some credence to beliefs that Samsung’s November 8 event is more likely to bring the dual-screen Continuum.

This doesn’t mean that they don’t have the device, it may just be called something else, like the Nexus S if it exists. Most talk has suggested that it would be a thinner take on the Galaxy S but with a stock version of Google’s Gingerbread Android.
