Posted in Star Wars by Conner Flynn on June 2nd, 2011

What better way to open a beer than by using the force. Or at least a lightsaber. Well, now you can do just that with this lightsaber bottle opener from Thinkgeek. It’s how all of the Jedis open their beverages.

This bottle opener is around 5.5 inches long and has been modeled on Luke’s Lightsaber from Return of the Jedi. It is also an officially licensed Star Wars product. That means that you are funding one of George Lucas’ many remixes of the films.

Samsung Wave 723 sports Bada, built-in leather flip cover

Posted in Samsung by Conner Flynn on August 30th, 2010

Looks like Samsung has expanded its fledgling Bada-based phone line by launching the Wave 723. It’s a step below the original Wave with a 3.2-inch LCD instead of Super AMOLED, but it does have a unique leather flip cover built into the body itself to protect the phone’s screen.

Most of the other features have crossed over, including the 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and the five-megapixel camera with flash. The phone is one of the first to use Bada 1.1 out of the box and can run apps from the first Wave, or other Bada phones, at native resolution without too much extra work.

This is no Galaxy S killer, so no worries. There’s no info on pricing or availability right now, but hopefully they move on this fast since Android 3.0 will be arriving soon enough.
