Sony has three new S-Frame digital video photo frames. The DPF-HD1000, DPF-HD800 frames support HD video play back with support for MPEG4, MPEG1, and Motion JPEG videos captured on digital cameras.

Both frames have an internal 2GB of memory and the HD800 has an 8 inch display with a resolution of 800 x 480 and the HD1000 has a resolution of 1026 x 600 with a 10.1-inch screen. These new Frames also have integrated speakers and are designed to also playback audio files supporting MP3, AAC, and Linear PCM.

Digital cameras that can shoot video are a dime a dozen, but only a few give you the power to manually select aperture and shutter speed. The Lumix FZ47 from Panasonic gives you full control over both video and still photo capture with its Creative Control mode.

The 12.1-megapixel superzoom can shoot 1080i HD at 30 fps. It also has a 3-inch LCD, 24x Leica zoom lens with a 25mm wide-angle focal length, and you can shoot 3.5-megapixel stills while recording video. The $400 FZ47 will arrive next month.

Verbatim has something new, not that they ever slow down. A new range of Class 10 SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) memory cards. They come in capacities from 4GB to 32GB and offer minimum data transfer rates of 10MB/second. The fast write speeds and generous capacities of Verbatim’s SDHC cards make them perfect for digital cameras.

These SDHC cards are also come in standard and micro sizes. The 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB SDHC cards are £6.99 ($11), £12.00 ($19), £24.00 ($38) and £40.00 ($64).

Panasonic has revealed the prices of its new digital camcorder and cameras. All five will be available in July for around $199.99 for the HMT-TA20, $169.99 for the HM-TA2, $349.99 for the HX-WA10, $279.99 for the HX-DC10; and $199.99 for the HX-DC1.

At the low end of the range, the Panasonic HM-TA20 is a full-HD mobile camera with a rugged casing that is waterproof to 10 feet, shockproof and dustproof. It also sports a new Night View Mode.

Canon cameras have a distinct look, so you recognize them right away. But why are these so small? Wait, those aren’t cameras, they’re flash drives. Aren’t they adorable. Now Canon fans have some storage options just for them.

There are several miniature models from Canon’s line-up. There’s the 5D MkII DSLR, the IXUS P&S and even the LEGRA HD. These hold 4GB of data. Pretty cute and unique storage idea.

The Pentax Rainbow K-r is pretty loud as far as colors on a camera go. If you like rainbows and need a new DSLR, then you might want to check out these limited edition cameras before they’re gone. This version is designed in collaboration with Tower Records.

The style is much less serious than your typical digital camera. This one shouts fun. Maybe they got the idea when some guys at the factory had a paintball fight one night. Digital cameras are great, but maybe you miss the old 35mm film rolls. If so, these flash drives should help you relive those days. They have a 4GB capacity, won’t get ruined when exposed to the sun and you don’t have to take them to get developed when you want your data.

The re-purposed canister of 35mm film now holds 4GB of storage. The 4GB flash drive retails for $23.99, there is also the 2GB option for $18.99.

Panasonic has upgraded their Lumix line of digital cameras with the DMC-FP7. It features a powerful 16 megapixel sensor, 4x optical zoom and a 3.5-inch touch screen display. It also has some nice features for image editions and retouch. The Reality Retouch mode is great for your vanity since it lets you get rid of wrinkles, reduce shine etc. While makeup mode lets you add mascara, eye-shadow and coloring.

It will cost you $230. Think of it as a cheap face-lift for those who only see your photos. When they see you in real life they may not even recognize you.

We first saw the Fujifilm XP30 back at CES last January. It’s another tough camera that features dust, water, freeze and shock protection. You know, in case you want to jump from a dusty cave into a pool of water, which turns out to be freezing and accidentally bang it on a rock on the way down.

It’s freeze proof to minus 10 degrees, water proof to 5 metres and shock proof so it can withstand a drop of 1.5 metres. Built-in GPS will be able to log your location, which can be displayed either as longitude and latitude coordinates, or by place name. As a bonus, the XP30 also has an embedded list with around half a million places of interest across the globe. So you will have plenty of places to visit.

Two Toronto-based artists have come up with a new art form. It’s a new way to view art on canvas. Their new series is called Take a Picture, and while they might look like blank canvases, when you pull out your camera and look through its screen, you’ll see the actual art.

Behind the canvases there are wires and circuits that emit infrared light. This light is just outside the range of what the human eye can see. Digital cameras can see them just fine though. I don’t know if it’s art, but it is pretty cool.

Samsung has announced some new point-and-shoots for your pocket. The PL20 has a 14 megapixel CCD sensor, 27mm wide angle lens, 5x zoom, digital image stabilization, 720p 24fps HD video with Smart Filters. It will arrive in March for $120, in silver, pink, black, and tomato red.

The ES80 sports 12 megapixels, lacks the HD recording and keeps the color options. This one has a release date for one month later for $20 less. If either of these are for you, they will arrive soon enough so save your dough.

iFixit has imported its free repair guides to the iPad with a native app, Repair Manual. The utility will give you access to thousands of guides for MacBooks, iOS devices, game consoles, a wide array of digital cameras, and cell phones. Now that will definitely come in handy.

Users can view step-by-step instructions for disassembly and component replacement, with individual guides focusing on specific problems. The app features high-resolution images with each step, making it easy.

Cameras are pretty slim these days, but most are not the size of a credit card.The Poco Pro digital camera on the other hand is the size of a credit card. Just a bit thicker actually. It is capable of shooting 14-megapixel stills and can also record video in 1080p resolution onto a microSDHC memory card.

It also sports a 2.4-inch AMOLED display with touchscreen controls around the bezel. Other features include auto focus, super macro capabilities, image stabilization, face recognition and limited DSLR-like manual controls. It weighs just 65 grams.

Stereoscopic 3D is all the rage this year. Big name consumer electronics manufacturers are outing all kinds of 3D devices and small names as well. Viewsonic is introducing their range of 3D devices Stateside.

There’s the $180 3DV5 pocket camcorder that can do 720p video recording and shoot 5-megapixel still photos in both 3D and 2D. Then there’s the similarly priced 3DPF8, an 8-inch digital photo frame that also supports 3D videos and photos. And you won’t need a pair of 3D glasses to go with it.
