Looking for a new media player? AMEX Digital has unveiled the MP-G7 Media Gate Android TV media player. This device is powered by a dual-core ARM Cortex processor and will deliver full HD video output over HDMI. The AMEX Digital MP-G7 also supports USB devices, like a keyboard and a mouse of course.

Some other specs include a 2.5-inch hard drive, an SD memory card slot, Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity. The AMEX Digital MP-G7 Android TV media player will cost you about $200.

Sony is set to release a pair of new Blu-ray recorders: the BDZ-AT350S and BDZ-AT750W. These entry-level Blu-ray players feature the company’s CREAS 4 Image engine processor which produces a sharper HD video quality, 500GB of internal storage and 3D video support.

The BDZ-AT350S sports a single Digital TV tuner, while the BDZ-AT750W comes with a couple of digital TV tuners. The Sony BDZ-AT350S and BDZ-AT750W will hit Japan next month for 65,000 Yen($822) and 85,000 Yen($1,075).

The Cambridge Audio iD100 digital iPad dock will transform your iPad into something more suitable for an audiophile. The Lookee TV is an internet TV and radio player that connects to your home network. It comes in three models: a table-top model, a portable model, and a set-top box. All are equipped with TV out with support for resolutions up to 720 x 480 pixels.

The Lookee TV can receive over 30,000 streaming radio stations and over 1,000 streaming TV channels for free. You can also use the Lookee TV as a digital picture frame or a media player. It will play videos or picture slideshows from the integrated SD card slot and it has a line-in audio jack for connecting with your iPod or an MP3 player.

VUDU has announced that it will be starting a new movie streaming service from their website that will allow users to watch content directly from their browsers without requiring a VUDU set-top box, DVD player or VUDU enabled device. This should get the company more customers.

To use the new VUDU streaming service all you have to do is visit vudu.com, check out the selection available and purchase. Then you can start watching immediately. This will help VUDU compete with Netflix and Amazon, who both already have web browser streaming. The service will have the same titles found on the VUDU digital storefront but the quality of the video will be lower through web browsers.

Sony’s Crackle service has now received an update that will allow it to provide a full range of ad-supported full-length movies and television series to a variety of devices. The update will now stream content to the Sony PlayStation 3, Roku streaming players, Sony’s Blu-ray players, BRAVIA televisions and Streaming Player with wifi, along with Google TV. This is great for PS3 owners as it’s yet another thing the console can do, but we already have plenty of video streaming services.

You can find Crackle in the Channel Store on Roku, on the PlayStation 3 Internet Browser home screen and on all BRAVIA Internet Video devices including Sony Blu-ray players and BRAVIA televisions.

Asus has launched its O!Play Mini to its O!Play media player range. The Mini drops USB 3.0 support, but still has the ability to output video at 1080p. It features a single USB 2.0 connector and a multi-media card reader with support for SD/MMC/MS/XD cards.

You’ll also find an HDMI 1.3 port in the rear, which also supports 7.1 audio in Dolby Digital AC3, DTS 2.0+, True HD and DTS-HD sound. An RCA port is also included. It supports a wide range of files, which includes MP4, MOV, XVID, AVI, ASF, WMV, MKV as well as audio support for FLAC files.

The Sceptre X420BV-FHD is a wall mountable, and also swivel-capable 42-inch LCD HDTV. It features a rapid 5ms response time and comes with SPDIF digital audio output, an all in one ATSC/NTSC/QAM tuner and 3 HDMI ports.

The HDMI ports will allow users to connect peripherals like Blu-ray players, computers, AV receivers and video game consoles. The Sceptre X420BV-FHD also has a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio, auto dynamic contrast enhancement, up to 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) resolution and a 500 cd/m2 brightness level.

OnLive is cloud-based gaming service that lets players buy video games in digital formats. The players can then play the games from any computer with a web connection and the OnLive software installed. One of the catches to the service was that officially you needed to be on a wired connection to play.

OnLive has announced that it now has a beta WiFi wireless gaming option available for people to try out. If the user launches OnLive on a machine using a wireless connection it will be detected by the game app. The user will then get a prompt where they can choose Wi-Fi Beta to connect.

Speedo used to just make apparel, but these days Speedo is a swimwear and an accessories manufacturer. The company has unleashed another Waterproof gadget to join the ranks of its previous Aquabeat Waterproof MP3 player.

The Speedo Aquashot can be submerged up to 3 meters and is shock resistant to up to 1 meter. That isn’t new. The interesting thing about this gadget is that it has the ability to float on water, which is a trick that most waterproof cameras don’t do.

Amex Digital’s latest is the smallest media player to actually handle 1080p. The device measures just 175- x 128- x 15mm and weighs just 250 grams. The player can accept a range of file formats from a connected USB storage device or an SD card.

It will also output 1080p over HDMI, and there’s a composite video / audio output and mini-USB port in the back. The MP-501 is equipped with an ARM Cortex-A8 processor and will play nice with nearly every file. The best news is that it is just $49.

Western Digital has unveiled a new product that hits two digital media birds with one stone. The device is called the WD Elements Play, can store lots of media, and lets you view that media on your TV.

The device is a smallish square box measuring 1.6″ H x 8.9″ L x 5.9″ W. Inside the black box hides a HDD of 1TB or 2TB capacity allowing for the storage of lots of digital files and video in various formats.

We’ve never seen a slingshot like this before. This slingshot looks like a typical primitive weapon, but that isn’t what it is all about. Hence the alphanumeric keypad. It will instead tag a building (or several) through the use of SMS.

This digital slingshot was designed by a media group in Berlin. Just type in a message, aim it at a building at fire. Your message will then splatter all over the building. German company 1&1 has now shipped the Android-powered 1&1 SmartPad tablet. The device comes packing a 7-inch LCD WVGA touchscreen display, an ARM 11 500MHz processor, 256MB RAM, 1GB ROM and Wi-Fi N connectivity.

There’s also a USB WWAN dongle that can be used as a wireless bridge to 2G or 3G connections. Some other features include a music player, use as a digital picture frame and access to 1&1 Video-on-Demand service maxdome.
