Dell Streak 10 Pro launching in China this summer

Posted in Dell by Conner Flynn on June 9th, 2011

Dell has confirmed its 10-inch Honeycomb tablet, the Streak 10 Pro along with another Windows 7 tablet for enterprise customers later in the year. Dell’s priority for this Android tablet is in developing countries though and it will hit China this summer over the US or even across Europe.

That may seem like an odd move, but Dell is number two in the market over there and they can get it out earlier because they don’t need to ship the tablet with the Google Experience over there. Dell sees China as having “more interesting” growth rates, faster adoption rates and “much more savvy” users.

Dell ready to show 10-inch Android tablet in mid-June

Posted in Dell by Conner Flynn on April 5th, 2011

Dell may just launch its Android tablet, probably the Streak 10, ahead of the Windows equivalent that it also has planned. Word is that the Android tablet might be ready as soon as mid-June. That would be about three months before the Windows model would arrive, so we know which one everyone will buy. We don’t yet have the marketing details and the 10-inch tablet remains “unbranded” for now.

We don’t have many details, but we do know that Dell says it would ship with Android 3.0 and not the combination of Android 2.2 and the custom Stage UI that it currently uses on the Streak 7. And we can likely expect the same Tegra 2 chip from the Streak 7.

If you were waiting for Dell to release a WiFi-only version of the Dell Streak 7, it looks like you are in luck. The guys over at StreakSmart have discovered a WiFi-only mobile device from Dell that received WiFi certification from the WiFi Alliance.

The device is model number M02M002, which syncs up with the 3G + WiFi Dell Streak 7′s model number M02M. Since the device has been certified to be single-mode WiFi-only, this can only be a WiFi-only version of the Dell Streak 7. Dell had never officially announced that they were going to launch one, so this is a nice surprise. The device was even spotted on Amazon up for pre-order at $379.99, though we don’t have any ship dates.
